THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If Wenger never wins anything again, at least he'll go out knowing he broke our 9 year hoodoo.

I must admit, it was quite emotional to see him smiling and celebrating again.

Gotta say, was nice to see Arsene happy and lifting a trophy. I have been massively against him for the past two seasons, and still will be if he doesn't sign a world class striker. But hopefully this win will inspire him to bring this club back to the top again :barscarf:

Rodders's local sperm bank have made him a patron......when the VT was sealed he trebled their normal supply levels single handedly

Seeing as we won a trophy, I expect this place to be slightly more jovial this summer.

Are we allowed to give Wenger any credit for the switch to 4-4-2 which arguably won us the final?

Yes, but why don't we play it all the time - and why switch out a lethal finisher for the out of his depth sanogo to do it ?

Plus yet again we got done in the first 20 by zonal marking - as Warren Barton said, a player standing still is never ever going to out jump a player with a four yard run up.

I will be fair though - holding back 2 subs until 105 mins when hull were already spent was a very smart psychological move, but again had Alex Bruce stayed on maybe we'd never have got to extra time.

Yesterday was a great day but Wenger n the board have to recognise it just papers over the cracks - had that been any of the top 5 they would have been 3 or 4 up and we would of had no way back.

Penalties aside, we got lucky.

Despite everything, I have to admit it was very nice to see Arsene smiling once again, especially at today's parade :barscarf:

Still against though 8)
