Gervinho had a player rating above Bale this season - 12 goals, 9 assists in 37 games.

Gerv wasn't a flop - he was played out of position until his confidence was shot.

He is utter utter dogshite - he couldn't trap a ball, couldn't shoot for love nor money and worst of all, he couldn't score from 6 fcuking yards versus league two Bradford city      :banghead: :banghead:

And I don't really agree that he was played out of position. His touch and passing were abysmal but he did have pace - playing high and wide (attacking winger in 4-5-1) seems like a pretty reasonable position to me. He was just too thick to figure out that for all his faults, he would have had a lot of joy if hed just kicked it past the full-back and run past him whenever he got one-on-one.
Agreed. KlingonHead was fucking appalling. He looked like an indoor footballer, you know the guy with all the drag backs and little tricks and attempted step overs and then you put that guy on an 11 aside pitch and he looks lost.

Absolute dogshit.

i agree Augs, but the figures don't lie :

Gervinho had a player rating above Bale this season - 12 goals, 9 assists in 37 games.

and that rating is adjusted for the League too.

Forehead quailfied directly for the CL as a Runner Up - we didn't.

If you agree that he is "utter utter dogshite" and the rest, why are you still pretending this 'player rating' crap holds any weight at all? I think they must have missed out a few key factors from the ratings matrix:

Domestic cup winners scored: Bale 1 Gervinho 0
Champions League winners scored: Bale 1 Gervinho 0
Finishing 15+ points off winners of Europe's 4th/5th best ever-declining league: Bale 0 Gervinho 1

As I always say when people throw out random stats like that, where is your qualifyer? They are only quantitative stats. They mean nothing. Who did he score against? At what point in the season? Were the oppo ravaged by injury or on the up? Were the goals tap-ins? Pennos? Were the assists quality through-passes or did the ball bounce off his head/knee/whatever and land in the path of the goalscorer, giving him an assist stat? :|

LegoHead had amazing stats for us one season. Until you looked at that 95%+ pass completion rate and realised 98% of those passes were 5 yard nothing lateral/back passes where basically he got rid of the ball and wouldn't take responsibility.

BREAKING NEWS: Manchester United owner Malcolm Glazer has died aged 85. Turn to Sky Sports News for the very latest:
9:00pm - 28 May 14

In no way funny but thought I'd put it on this thread rather than start another thread

Hmmm interesting - i wonder if this lets the sons off the lease to either more actively participate in the business or sell their stake ?

85 is not a bad age. he lived a life.

Perhaps some of their scumbags who chanted "Die Glazer Die" when he took over and went and formed their own tin pot little club will celebrate in the same classy way that those bitter Jocks did when Thatcher died !
