THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Why havent The Mods set up a countdown clock till the May 31st deadline, sheer ineptitude. That or they cant reach high enough to place it at the top of the screen 8)

Actually they can't count past 6 so it's a bit of a short countdown....... :D

I reckon that the reason that the Wenger new contract hasn't been signed is because it is a rolling one. I think that I read somewhere that Wenger wanted to retire at 65, so perhaps he is doing a Fergie and just having a rolling contract each year and at the end of it, deciding on whether to continue.

Granted, now that I say this, he is going to sign on for 8 years - I have truly jinxed it! :D

i see our lord and master had ANOTHER TF1 gig for the CL final.

nice to see his focus is still 100% on improving our squad n fitness/medical teams after our collapse last season.

i have zero confidence in wonga - he spends more time overseas in the summer months than he does at the club - you'd never think other managers treat it as a year round job, would you ?

given his age, you think he'd want a rest if not on club business - rather than spending five weeks in the searing heat of a tropical/sub tropical country on the other side of the world, with numerous long journeys and disease everywhere (have you seen the injections required to go ???).

its not the rest i'd recommend for a stressed out 65 year old - that's likely going to come on top isn't it ?

he can't ever claim he gave 100% to us this summer, its not with 7million a year he needs the money either, its just greed and not giving a fuck about the fans or the club :banghead:

No way pedro, the geezer wanted a punchup last Saturday and yet when Beckham flicked out a stud in 98 he went down like a prized pansy.

Our club has a bit of class about it so we shouldn't be picking any Tom. Simeone makes Moaninho seem like a saint. No point in having a manager whose never at the touchline.

Could you imagine the culture shock in the club if this guy would take over the manager position after Wenker? If anything, this change would do absolutely what we need in the club. It would really shake our conservative and sometimes even egoist way of working.

Tito Vilanova - Barca's ex-manager who just passed away last month from cancer (which makes the image seem all the more vile). Mourinho's a cu*t of the highest order, no one in world football can top him in that regard.
