Did a bit of research on potential strikers for this summer and tbh it's seems a bit thin on the ground for decent forwards. Haaland, Mbappe are the two youngest in the top 10 strikers. Isak a target of Arsenal, has only scored 4 goals this season, we need a 20 goal a season striker. I've stated I'd like Calvert-Lewin or Tammy Abraham at the start of the season but will they be the strikers we need to take us to the next level? I'm not sure but the game has changed an attacking midfielder's/ wingers are the new strikers. If we could tempt a player of the quality of Firmino, or similar, Dybala? Then they would take us to the next level.

Dybala is, in my opinion, a top quality player - he isnt, in my opinion, the type of striker we need. We need a number 9 centre forward instead of a dybala who plays off the main striker

Yeah, that's why I questioned marked him. I only mention Firmino as I think without him Salah and Mane wouldn't score half as many goals as they have. Imagine him in the middle of Martinelli and Saka, with ESR behind. Not many strikers in world football that give a team that balance.

The Saka talks are encouraging. Saka and Martinelli contracts are just as important as any signing.

I loathe Liverpool fans talking about these players as if we would sell them. There's always an article in the Liverpool Echo mentioning them. One even went as far to say Martinelli could be bought for 40m - how irrational is that. If you want a player, you need to bid properly. These pricks want to sell Salah for 100m when he is 30 and has 12 months to run on his contracts, but think 40m for Martinelli is fair

Selling Martinelli would be akin to the sale of Anelka . It either has to change the whole club or not happen at all. in relative terms don't even listen to anything under £100 million.

As much as I love martinelli as a player (and I do), anelka was a different class of a player and if he had his head proper he would have been a better player than henry in my opinion

It was the value of the sale that I was referring to and how the money changed the club .
Anelka wasted his career but his brothers didn't care.

I’ve got a sneaky suspicion Serge Gnabry will be playing “striker” for Arsenal next season

Depending on his situation, Tammy Abraham is a good number 9 for us IMO. He's having the Sancho style development abroad and you can see he's a good player. Tbh, even at Chelsea he was a good one but Tuchel for some reason thought let's loan/sell Abraham and get ourselves a 100M brick wall.

Dybala on a free could be a 'bargain'* but again, he will give you that false 9 world class performance, he isn't a natural number 9. Then again, he has played n9 for Juve countless times and has looked impeccable at times.

* I say bargain but in these times, a free transfer means something ridiculous like 10M signing-on fee and another 15M agent fees :banghead:

🚨 Arsenal are in the process of signing a TOP striker for the summer. They've had some contacts with the agent of Darwin Nunez 🇺🇾 in January, but nothing is decided yet.🔴 #AFC

Out of all the drivel written so far in various media this is the one that interests me the most. By the time the summer transfer window opens we'll have been linked with another 10 or 20 strikers.

That’s because we keep our transfer business hush hush, confidentiality clauses etc, so th express just have to guess and guess and guess again.

Probably stems from when we had Mata all lined up and Chelsea stepped in and nabbed him.

It’s no secret that we need a striker, probably two -so they are busy just checking names out left, right and centre(forward)

Loads of (Social Media) rumours that Arsenal have lined up 3 prospective Strikers...

I don't get to watch much Non-Prep Footie, so have no idea who the fuck they are. :?
