Edu has told the Evening Standard that he plans to make 1 or 2 signings this summer
So there you have it. Obviously there will be a striker so that could be it, there may be a central midfielder maybe as well. Other than that we could end up with the smallest squad in the PL again rather than signing the 5 players we actually need to be truly competitive.
You couldn’t make it up.
Yes, I saw that on BBC website and if it's accurate; which I think it is is, we may still end up with Clive staying - and then with Partey being injury prone along with Tierney our defensive options are extremely limited.
There was also this:
"Arsenal are set to renew their interest in England striker Tammy Abraham, 24, this summer and will offer Roma £50m in an attempt to seal a deal."
I don't see that happening and for me sounds like the old tried and tested Scatter Gun approach to signing a striker, as in: Who's out there? Who can we afford? Who would be willing to play for a team run by a novice?
Jesus would be a decent signing as a second striker who could play across the front 3. His goal scoring record throughout his City career is better than some of the other options being suggested like Rashford, DCL and Origi. He should be available fairly cheap given he would be in the last year of his contract.
As our main striker, I like the look of the Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, a player we have been linked with. He is still a bit raw but is a strong dynamic player with a decent scoring record and would get better. Problem is that he will not be short of suitors.

Since when have Arsenal told the press their transfer business ? It’s clearly just a sound bite.
1 or 2, is clearly insufficient, with out of contract players departing like Lacca, Eddie, Elneny and loan players being sold on too - Torriera, Guendouzi. Bellerin, Nelson and I fully expect Leno and maybe Pepe too.
Nunez , jesus and Balogun would be decent for me , id prefer Abraham over DCL.
I recall all the hype around Balogun when he got his agent to 'leak' to the press that he was looking to move elsewhere if he didn't get game time in the first team, a month or so later he got his dance and was out of his depth in the first team, sell him if any offers come informed him because in my books he's not good enough.

That worries me. I’m happy with quality over quantity but if it’s just 1 or 2, that suggests Laca-threat is signing a new contract and that would be stupid. The guy is finished.
We need an experienced back up keeper as Leno is off (Forster)
two back up full backs. (Spence from Boro)
a DM (Bissouma £50m)
and two strikers unless Arteta comes to his senses and plays Martinelli as a striker (Toney same number of league goals as Kane and good in the air)

I think there is a player in there , looks like a natural finisher , should have loaned him out sooner though, well see.
