As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I dont care if he is fit enough to play much in asia because he should still be made to continue his pre season training with the rest of the team, a team that the last time I checked he was still captaining
It is time this club grew a pair and stood up to all concerned - tell rvp that he can go but only when a reasonable acceptable offer is on the table and 15m is not enough
I suppose they could argue that his presence would be a distraction.
But don't you think the club are happy for him to stay behind so he doesn't get injured in any way and as such affect his sale price. The club want to sell him as much as he wants to go. They are just happy for it to play out like its all VP fault, to deflect any blame from the club.
MM99, the point that you originally made was your disapproval of wenger getting all the blame over this shit but I think that you will see a lot of people are very anti kroenke and anti gazidas so he isnt on his own. The thing that some people seem to miss when blaming the board is that wenger is actually on the board or attends board meetings - he has his voice and either doesnt use it or is over-ruled. If he feels over-ruled then why wouldnt he walk especially as he is a man that is always quick to tell everybody about how important his principles are to him ?

Maybe i'm a bit naive but don't you think that Wenger actually cares about the club? his downfall being that he thinks he can rectify the situation and won't give up on it.

yep, he was always saying how he wouldn't work at a club (Madrid) where he didn't have the freedom to decide everything. So he's either in cahoots with Kronke and accept the selling policy, or has no principles other than to his annual salary.

I am not disagreeing with that theory at all but it still comes back to the fact that there is no accountability with anyone in our club and that includes the board, the manager, the medical team and indeed the players
Listen, as far as I am concerned wenger's intentions really count for fcuk all - what matters is his total inability to see what needs changing and then actually putting it right. People can argue about the sugar daddy's at other clubs but that just ignores his lack of tactical nous, his loyalty to sub standard shite players and playing a system that is clearly failing

My distrust of this bastard leads me to believe that there are two possibilities in play here -
1. He has no interest in signing rvp at all. He realises though that by declaring an interest and making bids it will only drive up the asking price which might screw over his noisy neighbours a small bit. In carrying out this plan it also serves as a distraction from a striker that the c**t actually does want to buy so he can maybe get the deal done while everybody is looking in another direction.
2. He does want rvp. He knows rvp wants to sign for him. He goes public with the fact that he has bid in an effort to send a message to our captain in the hope that he can push the deal along at our end.
I know that I am kinda covering bases there but I never trust the red nosed c**t and always feel that there is another agenda in play with him. If I was to pick one possibility then I would probably believe that ferguscum is using rvp as a distraction in his bid to sign a different striker
At this point the more bidders the better. We'll probably lose him to City but hopefully we won't have to take a cut-rate value like we always manage to do. Him being a twat and publicly stating there's basically no chance he's returning to Arsenal has cost us millions in transfer fees, and it was a huge middle finger to the club on his part. Obviously he thinks his talent deserves royal treatment at the bargaining table, and Arsenal were probably playing their same old coy financial-realities-first penny-pinching.
I hope Chelsea jumps into the mix as a potential suitor. Let's get some money for him and re-invest in a couple good players. He's 28 and injury prone and has one-and-a-half fantastic seasons under him after 8 years (not to say he hasn't contributed a large amount before that). It's the right time to sell, but it must be for a proper price.
Long story short, who cares where he goes, as long as we get the right amount. Though I'd much rather have him leave England if he is going.
When i see the comments like lets get as much money for him and sign some quality players it does my head in.Thats the whole point we will get a lot of money for a player coming into his last year like we did for Nasri last summer but we will not buy quality.Quality costs money a lot of money. Our record transfer fee is £15m what world class players can you get for that.We have money we got £41m for Greedy and Toure and £55m for Cesc and Nasri in the last 3 years £96m yet look who we have bought in that time Squillaci Jenkinson Santos Chamakh Park Gervinho. When are our fans going to realise Wenger will not pay £25m for a marquee signing.

It is more like 1. Similar to Nasri issue. Fungus is helping us by creating a competition for RVP. There is no way that noisy neighbors let him go to him.
This tread deserves no more posts. He wants to go so let him. You know if he didn't sprout shite about loving the club I'd have no grudge towards but he did and he can fu*k off
I thought the arsehole said that this was going to be sorted yesterday... I reckon this 'saga' will continue to the end of August... Wenger, the 'man' who learns nothing from previous..
History repeating !! We are holding out for 20 Million and will sell him late on in this window for much less. Van Persie will go on to score another 30 goals this season.
Arsenal FC are effectively dead
This is pretty tiresome now. Shall we just sell the ox wilshere and Sagna to save the heartache next season? Id love to know what's happening behind the scenes at arsenal right now! I bet Ivan and wenger are hiding in a pretend fort made in the front room from cushions!
