As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I will be shelling out for the 2 season tickets again in a few days despite the fact that I have only attended 2 games at home last season !
and thats something to be proud of is it??
so what is the point of that? It is people like you that is the reason that the club is as it is today.
I can just imagine Stan Kroenke sitting back in the US chatting to his friends,
"hey you know what in little old England there is this soccer club that I own and there are all these supporters with funny names like Herd who are happy to give me £1,000 every year at this time just so they can say they have a season ticket at this club. Not that they go or anything they just like having a ticket. And then there is this french guy who manages the team. All the fans must really love him because they are willing to give their money so quickly each year.
Hey and you know what is even funnier they are still willing to do this whilst I sell all the best players! "

Think you're confusing me with someone else mate......one of the few that isn't mindless enough to keep lining Kroenke's pockets. I've said times many that I refuse to give the club a penny of my money while its being run the way it is and I stuck to that throughout last season. If you want to hurt a corporate, hit him in the pocket. If you want to pretend to be some sort of working class champion, go on a march with the masses (all 200 of them) and display a banner - it will have fuck all impact anyway.
For the last time - if you're unhappy - stop fucking giving the club your money.
Oh yes now its the season ticket holders that are to blame ,what a joke baba aka red member ,(for they are one ).
Stevo apart from the pointless protest of not going or spending money with them what do u do abt changing the status quo ,nothing ,just like me !
But Im not the one screaming every day on here for regime change you are .
Wether I renew or not it makes not a jot of difference ,but the thread was about the banner !~

Babatunde is going to love that
and er yes whether you get a new season ticket or not does matter. Have a little think about that.

But I've just seen this thread on AFC Forum from our good old friend. Apparently by finishing 3rd Wenger has proved us wrong and a fair few agree with him. Is this a sign of how far we have fallen? Who is behind Wenger's continuation as Manager? Are you giving him one last chance? Or is he God in your eyes forever?
I am giving him one last chance on the basis I can't think of any other manager who would have steered this team to 3rd place last season.
BUT that was last season which is now over. Next season starts today at 10.30am at Wengers house. If RVP can be persuaded to stay and Wenger adds some reinforcements things are looking good again. If he doesnt this club and Wenger in particular has a big problem.

Herd, I've never claimed to be one of those who wants to march to Gazidis's front door, banner in hand, shouting from the rooftops. I've simply suggested that if everyone who was disaffected, or even say 50% of them, were to stop giving the club their hard earned cash they would be forced to listen. When your customers stop paying you money as a business you have to listen. If they do the traditional British thing of moan like fuck but carry on paying, then nothing changes. It wouldn't be a pointless protest if everyone took the same stance would it? So in that regard I am doing more than you because I've stopped giving them my money.
Those that moan and hand over their money are just like the restauarnt diner that whinges about his meal and the service and then smiles and nods when the waiter asks how everything is and leaves a tip, or better still more like the taxi driver who moans like fuck about everything the government does from immigration to benefits and then when asked how he voted says...."err, I couldn't be bothered"
Point taken Stevo but I I'm NOT the in the Wenger out brigade ,I'm not even ante Kroenke as he has paid over the top for the club ,the person that put us in the twilight zone is Fizman and he's dead so for me the ship has sailed .
Football isn't going to come back to the masses and whilst I see your point I think you are a tad naive to think that fan power can be made to bring pressure on the Clubs American Owners .
The club could still sell out week in and out by selling to tourists and day trippers ,as the corporate boxes will stay indefinitely .

No problem mate. By the way, I'm not really saying I want football brought back to the masses. When the Arsenal FC, Not Plc thing started I actually said that if it was going to turn into a rant against ticket prices then I didn't want to back it.
All I ask from the club is that they stick to their side of the bargain. I give Arsenal my money to be run as a football club, whose core activity is football and who reinvests a substantial chunk of its free cash flow into what they label the football side of the business. I just want the club to stick to its promise of doing all it can to compete......nothing more nothing less. If they suddenly decide this Summer that they will substantially reinvest the £50m in available cash in improving the team rather than sitting in a bank account earning diddly squat interest that'll do for me. Not asking them to introduce standing, or drop prices 50% or anything daft - they can't do that. What is in their gift is to act like an ambitious football club - not a property developer and marketing house that fleeces its fans and weakens the playing squad every year

Amen to that. Fcuk this third/fourth place will we/won't we sh*t...
Herd wrote:Understood and fully respect your position .
I for one hope you get your wish ,and if it happens you can use one of my tickets to watch a match FOC !
Well, lets hope so mate for everyone's sake. I think it probably needs 3 players on top of the Podolski signing and they could probably fund half of the cost from selling the useless shite we seem to have accumulated in reserve.
Thanks for the kind offer by the way - would be good to meet up one day when you're over. If you've bought the banner on EBay for £50 you can bring it along

If the banner hadn't been kidnapped by a few (un-named characters) then I would have shown it. £50 down the drain. C'est la vie.
£50 down the drain but you will have to live with the fact that you were gutless and melted for the rest of your life.
