I'm just hoping this Arteta stuff has been a pointless smoke screen and today they will announce Allegri as our new manager but my gut tells me the fucking moron that is Gazidis will be announcing Arteta. :|

Gazidis is a moron. He is typical of a certain type of super arrogant American businessman that thinks he is smarter than he is.... the type that bring banks down. He tried a coup last year and made a complete fuck up of it. The ONLY reason Wenger went this season is because so many fans stayed away from the Conglomerates that Wiggy could see it would hurt the brand if Wenger served out the full two year extension. The board could not and did not foresee having to get rid of Wenger after the first year of the extension and had no plan in place. People giving Gazidis credit for cunning and business smarts have it totally wrong.

Make no mistake Kroenke Gazidis and this board of empty suited lizards are greedy enough and stupid enough to go with the cheap option of Arteta.

Wenger was the symptom. Kroenke (and Gazidis) are the disease. :censored:

I have the same feeling, the euphoria of the Wenger announcement has long worn off and I have swung back to the attitude of what was the point of getting rid of him if someone equally as bad or worse is appointed.

I always felt that Wenger going wouldn't mean much in terms of righting the ship because the idiots at the top were equally as culpable. I hope to god I'm wrong but this whole situation just feels so 'Modern Arsenal'

Sky Sports are reporting that we will be talking to Henry about the managers job. I assume this is another "token gesture".
Vieira is also now in "advanced talks" with Nice.

Not saying Vieira would be my first choice but at least he would has managerial experience and also would have had the support of the fans.

And the suggestion all along with this was that PV4 wouldnt be leaving the citeeh fold  Vieira was always in my preferred 3 or 4 people for the job anyway, but now that arteta is the likely winner of this fiasco, I am even more desperate for him to get the job.

Managerial experience - check
Arsenal Legend - check
Commanding Presence - check
Believer in defensive organisation - check
High Profile Status - check

None of the above are applicable to arteta

sounds like they might delay the announcement until next week so that the fanbase calms down a bit.
I suppose ideally they would like to delay it until after the season ticket deadline :D

but it will be Arteta as the new manager, I'm pretty certain about that.

the City fans think the appointment is hilarious.

"This is like giving an 17 yr old the keys to a Lamborghini.
Talk about in at the deep end...
He has never managed a team ffs!!"

They're not wrong though Rob, as I said elsewhere if any of the teams above us were contemplating the same we'd be pissing ourselves laughing, only at Arsenal PLC

One of Wenger's quotes from the article: “I have friends who can go and lay on a beach all day long for the whole of their holidays and I envy them. I just can’t do that. I get bored."

So his version of 'laying on a beach all day' is our version of 'watching Arsenal FC for the past decade'.
