As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Mark Irwin: #AFC are ready to listen to offers for record signing Nicolas Pepe as they look to generate funds for another summer spending spree. The club are resigned to taking a massive hit on the Ivorian international who cost £72m
.@David_Ornstein: 'Edu and Gabriel Jesus' reps have been talking for a number of months to the extent that, that part of the negotiations is pretty much done and dusted. He is the profile of striker Mikel arteta is looking to bring in. I think they want to bring in two forwards.'
A 5ft 4" profile is exactly what we need
It’s apparently what most posters on here wish they had !
Cedric Soares ‘will leave Arsenal at the end of the season’. Porto have already made a proposal of less than €5m, with Newcastle United also among the clubs interested, due to the player’s ‘flexibility’ to operate in multiple positions. There are no conversations taking place between Man City and Gabriel Jesus' representatives regarding a contract renewal at the moment. Arsenal are well positioned to sign him this summer and will open formal talks with Man City once the season is over. [@FabrizioRomano]

Arteta in the press conference today claiming ‘you have to credit what Xhaka has done’
I’m really not hopeful we’re going to get rid of him anytime soon

It was a leading question , what do you expect him to say , I live in hope though Mourinho comes back for him, swap for Tammy .

True. As much as we hate and don't rate Clive it would be an idiot manager that would publicly shit on his own player in a presser. I too am living in hope....

I would Happily Shit on Clives head in a public press conference to explain how we Gooners feel.
Xhaka's place in the first team can be taken. But I still dont see why people think he is the biggest problem facing the club. I would say Xhaka's performances this year are about the 5th most pressing issue, behind the striker problem, the disastrous wingbacks options beyond Tierney and Tomiyasu, and the fact Xhaka is not our worst midfielder. Given Partey is out, if Xhaka joined him on the sidelines and ASL had to partner Elneny it would be a fucking disaster. Anyone who would prefer ASL to Xhaka is on heroin.
People are obsessed with Xhaka, its almost irrational. You cant have great players throughout the squad, but is Xhaka any worse than McTominay at United, or Harry Winks a Tottenham?
I do think if everyone is fit when he is the worst player in the first team after Nketiah/Lacazette. He is one player who needs to be improved upon. But the striker situation and backup wingback situation are vastly more important. Even after that why would Xhaka go before ASL. I dont care for ASL's youth, he is turning 23 in 5 months so he really isn't that young, especially given Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Tomiyasu, ESR are all younger.
Bigger problems that need addressing than Xhaka, and even if we signed a new number 8. Is Xhaka as a back up that bad an option?

Hmmmmmm!
Anyone who doesn't see the enormity of his faults, failings and how they continually negatively impact on the Team, Fans and The Season as a whole ... well ... I am bereft of hope for them
