Last year and the year previous, he would cost 35M maximum. This year he has had an explosive season like Havertz and now commanding a 80M price tag. He's quality but it's a Pepe type signing and we will most likely fall for it because that sweet CL money will come in.

I'd still take a punt on Calvert-Lewin for a reduced fee given his injuries this season. It could work out like Marwood and Overmars did for us both had injury troubles before joining us but gave us two outstanding seasons.
Saliba must return and play straight into the first team, he looks like a VVD type defender which we will regret losing if sold.

Its something that needs to be fixed. I dont like the fact other clubs feel below market bids are good enough. I understand for players we dont want to keep. Leno will go cheap, so will the loanees Bellerin, Torriera, Geuendozi (never learnt to spell this guys name). But Saka, Martinelli, ESR and Gabriel are really going to be hot tickets in years to come - and we should never sell, but at the minimum the interested clubs should be under no illusion they will need to break their arm off to sign anyone of them.
The one thing Wenger did that left be exasperated was the way he conducted himself in the sale of RVP to Man United. Yes RVP had a year left on his contract and didnt want to sign a new deal. But Wenger saying to Ferguson 'you have no idea how good a player you are getting', and basically making the deal go smoothly was borderline treason. We should have held the deal back and asked for an extra 5m, and if they offered the money ask for another 3m on top of that. We should have stonewalled and made Man United more worried about not getting him more than we feared losing him on a free. I had lost faith in Wenger by then but the way he rolled over for Ferguson was when I realized he wasn't even competitive in his own mindset.
Mind you I think the club are well aware of the value of our players. We paid 50m for White, and bombed 72m on Pepe. You dont pay 50m for White and sell Saka for the same amount, anymore than you would pay 15k for a Toyota for sell your Tesla for the same amount.
But clubs do see us as a soft touch in the transfer market when it comes to selling players. Just look at Villa and their joke bid for ESR. Of course it was a ridiculous bid with no chance of succeeding, but the fact they thought they could get away with selling Grealish for 100m and buying ESR for 30m in the same transfer window showed how they viewed us.
