Groundhog summer transfer window thread
Re: January transfer rumours thread
Griezmann rumblings. So long as he comes in the next week or two and not the summer (rules out Draxler), I'd be happy. Still not a striker but great replacement for Theo.

"Nothing has changed because we are open to a possible solution and if something interesting turns up we will do it. It could be a loan as well yes," said Wenger. "We are not in talks, with Real about anybody.
"I do not want to speak about any specific names. For us it is important to prepare well for Monday night and to win the game on Monday night. The people who are in the newspapers do not help us to win the game on Monday night. It is the players who play here."
Wenger added: "The transfer market is a distraction that for me is not welcome. I think it would be much better that there is no transfer market at all in January and the team starts and finishes with the same players would be fair unless you have big injuries.
"For the rest what is important is that we focus on the quality of our performances because it's a period that is very sensitive at the moment and every game is now a massive game."

I know OGL speaks in a forked tongue regarding transfers but fucking hell, do you ever hear other top flight managers bitch and moan about transfer windows as much as Wenger? He seems to conveniently forget that if he had done his job in the summer we would not be in the situation where we require additional players mid season.Red Gunner wrote:"Nothing has changed because we are open to a possible solution and if something interesting turns up we will do it. Yes, not because of his superbly well taken goal against the scum, but because he doesn't stop running and chasing down the opposition.TeeCee wrote:I would definitely have Rosicky in that list too?In my opinion we have four "Running midfielders":
Walcott, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gnabry.

Great Goal!...thing is most of the great players only score one, or two at most of those kind of goals in their life time....good player though, but doubt he will come to us....

Re: January transfer rumours thread
Why is that? Because of the bigger fish in Spain? Or Wenger not wanting to price match? Sociedad will likely not qualify for Europe again with the resurgent Bilbao and Villareal.OneBardGooner wrote:Great Goal!...thing is most of the great players only score one, or two at most of those kind of goals in their life time....good player though, but doubt he will come to us....

Transfer windows (especially the January ones) were an evil plan concocted by rich bastards like Abramovich and Mansour to further tilt the playing field in their favourMrT wrote:I know OGL speaks in a forked tongue regarding transfers but fucking hell, do you ever hear other top flight managers bitch and moan about transfer windows as much as Wenger? I I I me me me - how about giving the credit to the player.Red Gunner wrote:Wenger - Theo blow may affect transfers
Arsène Wenger admits that Theo Walcott’s injury has “accelerated” his plans in the January transfer window.
The England international has been ruled out for at least six months after he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
While Wenger says the news could affect his plans, he emphasised that the Tottenham game showed the options already at his disposal.
“[Walcott’s injury] has accelerated speculation first and of course my desire as well - but let's not forget about Serge Gnabry who can play in the first team,” he told Arsenal Player.
“We have Oxlade-Chamberlain back and we have many other players who can play on the flanks so to find better solutions than what we have internally will not be easy.
“Up front we lose Theo as a potential central forward and that's maybe where we have to look outside. But we hopefully have Bendtner back in three weeks. We are there for the opportunities but it's very difficult at the moment.”
Wenger was delighted with Gnabry’s performance against Tottenham and believes the teenager has a bright future ahead of him.
“I integrated him into the first team a long time ago because I see that the qualities are there,” he said.
“He looked to have problems with injuries last season but he was already very influential in the NextGen Series and this season he has grown. He's only 18 years of age and what he shows is encouraging.”

Giovinco is about 4ft and looks as strong on the ball as a starved Ethiopian girl, so it is the ideal wenger signing
as for Gourcuff we've been linked with him 100 times and he's french, so this is some credible bollocks from the daily express, all the the while neither will happen
