if only phil dowd, martin atkinson, mike dean, lee mason, and chris foy followed him out the door. perhaps THEN the refereeing in the league would come up a notch.

Liked his performance in the brazil game in the recent world cup - if he had of reffed their game v colombia I have no doubt that brazil would have received at least 1 red card, colombia would have won and we wouldnt have to listen to the incessant whinging from brazil about the murderous challenge on neymar

celebrate, everyone!
We've already had 2 threads about this bell end. What the fuck is the obsession with a ref retiring that warrants it's own thread? Merging it with the other Webb threads in the Manure thread because it's all the same shite basically.

Agreed. Could have easily given an early penalty when Neymar went down and also disallowed Hulk's goal. Both correct calls but ones very few referees in that tournament would have made.

Feel a bit sorry for Webb that that one (very poor) decision overshadowed what I thought was a very good performance in the most difficult of circumstances.

Talking about refereeing performances in this depth. Jesus when does the new season start

Van Gaal - the man who shits miracles apparently. Look forward to a 3-5-2 with Smalling Evans and Jones at the back

Watched the first half of that Mickey Mouse game with the manc scum and the perpetual victims the other night - credit where credit is due, smelling looked very comfortable in the back 3 8) On the flip side of course, Phil jones and Johnny Evans looked like 2 players that were dragged in off the street to make up the numbers  The formation will certainly be something to keep an eye on - I think that they have the wing backs to play the system, and the formation that allows mata to play behind shrek and rvp should def be feared, but their need for centre backs is massive and right now they are doing a wenker.....substituting quality for quantity
