The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Don't know much about this fella but a few papers are going with us triggering his release clause from Wolfsburg. Not entirely sure LB is a top priority given that I thought Monreal was one of the success stories of last season, but if it means permacrock Gibbs leaving and having 2 decent choices in defence then always welcome
Rumours are picking up about this. Solid player but a bit overrated, a lot of big clubs are interested. Great at crossing and free kicks, good offensively but lacking defensively. Not a priority at all with Nacho doing the business unless he's leaving.

He's tall for a fullback, 5'11", apparently with good aerial ability (which is what lets Monreal down in my opinion, otherwise he is pretty decent now after a decidedly shaky start )

A lot of money to shell out on a position that isn't top priority but what the fuck do we know eh ?

After all we've only been saying a solid, capable defensive midfielder was needed for about 6 years.

Now the world and their mother is telling Wenker to get the centre forward we need, he buys the dm we needed years ago when we had a decent cf.

By the time we get a new forward, we will need replacements elsewhere, and so the perpetual 1 or 2 players away will continue.

Hope so. Its what we do best.
:barscarf:
You still don't get it, huh?

Fabregas and Nasri (to a lesser extent) did everything asked of them. They showed up and played when picked. After repeatedly watching the same mistakes made over and over they eventually said "fuck this, I'm off". Can't blame them to be honest.

But the VanJudas cúnt? Are you serious?? The cúnt sat on our treatment table injured for 7 seasons and never ONCE questioned the club's ambition whilst picking up obscene wages for contributing fuck all during that 7 seasons. NEVER ONCE. Why did he not question the ambition after 3 years? Or 4 years? or 5 years? After all it was the same shit all that time. I'll tell you why (again). Because he knew no one would offer him better with his injury record. Then he has his one injury free season, FINALLY scores more than 20 PL goals, and cashed it in. If any cúnt owed the club for their loyalty to him it was VanJudasCunt.

And we had someidiots on here talking this vermin up as if he had sacrificed himself for the "long term good" of the club by leaving. RVJC is on top of all and any cúnt lists andd rightly so. I'm not naive enough to believe any player nowdays puts the club before themselves but to elevate a cúnt like RVJC to some form of fucking martyr is the thinking of arseholes. :x Arseholes I tell you.
RVP as we know was a top quality, world class forward who recognised that under Wenger we were totally stagnating.
He wasnt getting any younger and wanted to win trophys. He first went to Wenger and Gazidis and sought assurances about the direction and ambition of the club. He didnt get the assurances so decided it was time to move.
I wont slate him for wanting far, far away from Wengers Arsenal no matter how long he was injured. He came out and said what us fans had been saying fir years. That the club had zero ambition and rather than hate on him, I actually respect him for it.

As to why he didnt take a stand earlier? Dunno. Dont really care now tbh. But he did take a stand....
Maybe it had been bothering him for years. Maybe he had been lied to by the fraudster in the past.
Maybe like us fans he took a little longer than others to recognise what the fcuk was going on.
Some fans still support Wenger. Some have wanted him gone for a decade. Some are somewhere inbetween
You're probably right there was an element of selfishness involved as to the timing but I cant c unt him off for going to play for the most successful manager ever and win honours.

Seems to me what he did wrong was actually confronting the club about it and looking for answers, assurances. Then going public about it. Had he just kept schtumn maybe people wouldnt dislike him so much.
Dont forget Fergie phoned Wenger direct and he did the deal over the phone. Wenger getting some sick thrill about enabling United to win the league.

I'll never slate him for saying out loud, possibly what other players were thinking or saying quietly amongst themselves without doing anything about it and picking up Wengers socialist wages.

So I do get it I just disagree with ya.

I think he's a really good player and I'd love to see him in an Arsenal shirt, but only if we sign a CB and striker, otherwise NOT a priority.

He's a top player, but do we need any more tippy-tappy players. Plus he's 28 and on 130k pw. Our priorities lie elsewhere.

He is a quality player, but I can't see Wenger wanting an agile and mobile midfielder that likes to take players on and move with the ball at his feet and pass the ball for more than 5 yards. I mean where would it end? With us playing a pacey mobile striker in our shit 4-5-1???!!!

Wenger would never sign Mata, as he would have to lay on extra coaching sessions to drill the stagnant tippy tappy passy pass pass game into him. And we all know Arsene will be mega-busy this summer with his punditry work. :|

Was moaning maureen there when Chavs let Mata go to United? If so, maybe maureen doesn't like him.
