The bit that should help reassure a lot of fans is

"It is understood player recruitment was an area discussed with interviewed candidates and therefore any signings made before or after the appointment will supposedly have the incoming manager's blessing.
As per the continental model, Arsenal's new head coach will contribute to recruitment decisions and retain the power of veto, but unlike in the past he will not be the only voice that matters.
Mislintat will lead the search and pursue agreed targets, with Sanllehi charged with closing the deals"

The amount of people who continue to believe that the structure within the club was going to prevent us from getting a top manager, was totally out of control, and more than a little bit ridiculous. I have always accepted that the amount of funds made available to the new manager might well be a genuine roadblock in any negotiations (I do believe that there is ample funds available but that they will be cautious with how much is made available), but our recruitment model is no different to 99% of clubs across europe

Sky Sports are reporting that we will be talking to Henry about the managers job. I assume this is another "token gesture".
Vieira is also now in "advanced talks" with Nice.

Not saying Vieira would be my first choice but at least he would has managerial experience and also would have had the support of the fans.
this is a thinly veiled smokescreen by Gazidis....Oh.....wait a minute lets make it look like we consulted everyone job, just to keep it looking as its a fair process...
Exactly. And what a pathetically obvious and ham-fisted attempt at a smokescreen it is. Gazidis is a complete moron.

A lot of people look at our outlay last season thinking because we got players in, we spent big. Did we?? We got Mkytarian on the Sanchez swop, we got Kolasinac on a free, we bought Lacazette & Aubamayang but we got close to 80 mil for The Ox, Walcott & Giroud....So how much money did we really spend on players?

The biggest piss take of his death throes was putting Ozil on 350k pw. Thankfully he was fired otherwise Ramsey would now be on upward of 200 pw. We have a huge wage bill for players who are not worth it and who we cannot offload. That for me is one of our big problems....talk of a new managerial "clear out" Who....and to where...nobody is going to give them the money they are on now.

SSN just stated that we want to talk to TH about "a role" at the club so is he going to be the latest addition to the Legends Tour team then :D

Joking aside if TH came back as the fucking tea lady he is going to completely overshadow Arteta. That's the trouble with trying to second guess the mind of a moron.....you just don't have a clue what is going on in Gazidis' head. TH being lined up as Arteta's replacement at xmas after it's all gone horribly (predictably) wrong :rubchin:

"This is like giving an 17 yr old the keys to a Lamborghini.
Talk about in at the deep end...
He has never managed a team ffs!!"
If as you were getting on a plane and you saw the pilot with a white stick and a guide dog would you get on the plane.Welcome to Gazidis Airlines

Didn't the net spend eventually work out at about £15m or so once purchases and sales were taken into account, hardly breaking the bank is it ?

I'm just hoping this Arteta stuff has been a pointless smoke screen and today they will announce Allegri as our new manager but my gut tells me the fucking moron that is Gazidis will be announcing Arteta. :|
I honestly believe Gazidis feels he is, and has been living in the shadow of Dein He sees this as his 'opportunity' to make a mark on the history of the club, as the man who discovered the next great Arsenal manager. It smacks of an ego making decisions, not a brain.
Hey, he could prove us all wrong and Arteta could turn out to be the find of a lifetime, but i doubt it.
This could be the biggest mistake yet, to come from the bunch of utter no nothing cretins who run our once great club.

It's royally pissing me off listening to the club say, "Arsene Wenger wasn't an established name when he joined", clearly equating him with Arteta.

A small difference they fail to mention is that AW had had 12 years management experience BEFORE he joined us, with three different clubs in two different countries.

It would be more accurate to compare Arteta with Stevie G or Joey Barton.

Should Arteta get it, I'm interested to know if the stadium will be anywhere near full once the new season kicks off.
Fucked if i'm spending any of my hard earned there until the place is sorted out. Could be some time i think.

Listen we all knew there was a more than sizeable risk of the board doing this when it was announced Wenger was on his bike.

We all wanted Wenger gone and this was the risk of what came next.

Arteta if appointed should get the full support of the fanbase because its the boards decision to hire him. He has to be given a chance to succeed.

Every bit of anger and negativity should be directed at them for the shameful way they handle this club. I always used to say that someone could do a lot better than Wenger even given the constraints of a Kronke regime..... unfortunately Wenger has got us into such a position where money is being lost so the new man has even less to work with.

Those are the realities of a post Wenger era..... it may take years of us falling into obscurity and losing money before the wig wearing c.unt decides to finally sell up.

We all knew this is how it could be so we're just gonna have to deal with it now.

Did we? Maybe naively i thought they would try to get the best person who was available and not a complete novice.
If you look on the poll, very few thought Arteta, most said Allegri, Ancelotti etc..
