As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wenger has enticed him from Barcelona, one of the biggest clubs around.
But let's not feel optimistic, let's not give Wenger any credit.
Let's just keep the pessimistic mood prevail and enjoy having a good moan and bitch.
FFS..........
I couldn't agree more. If we can't get excited about Sanchez then we aren't going to get excited about anything. This signing
could be the 7 point difference than last season. We so nearly won it, lets not forget ,we were top for a majority of the season and we all said if we had a back up or better option than Giroud we could actually win the thing. This season
is the one. This is the season where we can properly have a go. If everyone stays fit we have a squad to match any other

What will it take for a little optimism??
Wenger is building one of the most exciting squads in Europe and people here are competing here to be as negative as possible.
Just bizarre.......
Optimism = WUM.
Always cute to see you pipe up when one of your brethren is being viciously attacked. Good on you.
Cheers pal. Can I just add that I'm massive fan of your pure hatred for all things football related. I hope you eventually find something you like. You deserve it.

That statement is 100% Inaccurate - He only hates you. (and you seem to know nothing relating to Football)
Well technically speaking last year was indeed OUR year- we definately won the 2013 Premiership Jan 2013- 2014
Light the barbecue up- another trophy on its way
1,000 agree... Last Season was our season...or should have been...But AW let it sail on by....Had he bought a striker in January we just might MIGHT have made it past the finishing line top of the prem...
but hey! That's what 31yrs in football does for you.

If Khedira signs it will become "Wenger still won't sign a centre back"
Or he still won't have signed the DM we've needed since we watched two walk out the door in 2008. He was fantastic as a deep-lying playmaker against Brazil, zipping sharp passes around their midfielders and picking out the attacking players in space time and time again. But he was pretty awful against Algeria when there was actually defending to be done, his anticipation and positioning were well off and when he wasn't hauling players down he was getting skinned or being bailed out by Schweinsteiger.
Khedira is like Arteta before his legs went - you can stick him in a deep-lying midfield role and he will perform pretty well there but it won't make him a DM. From what I hear he has moaned and bitched about having to play a negative role at Madrid and it's difficult to see either him or Wenger having much desire to employ him in a completely creatively-restricted role if he was to sign.
I wouldn't be devastated if we signed him by any means, I just don't see him as the answer to our problems in that position.
