As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Not allowed to take tablets or large mobiles into Old Shatford now.
Initial reports were that it was so others behind could actually see over the tourists doing their recordings, but now the club report it as a security matter.
I would have thought it would be at the Mousers that mobile phones or tablets could get nicked

Van gaal clearly isnt a fan of shaw at all - firstly he called him out publicly on his fitness and now he is trying to buy rojo who plays in shaws position Imagine paying 30m for a player and then a month later spending another 16m to squeeze him out of the team
The season hasn't even started yet and already I'm fed up with Van Gaal and the media obsession around him. The Sky hype machine might just malfunction when it comes to them playing Chelsea. They might as well stick him and Maureen on plinths and give them big foam gladiator sticks and forget about the football altogether.
However you spin that Shaw thing it's pretty shocking management. Calling him out for fitness, making him train on his own on a separate regime you've designed for him and then he breaks down with a muscle injury before kicking a ball. Not that I'd expect the media to criticise their latest page-filler but if Wenger had overseen such a debacle we'd be foaming.

Agree with all that - if I was a manure fan I wouldnt be at all happy about plastic face publicly slating a young kid like that but van gaal has a history of making a short term splash but then leaving an absolute mess behind him when he goes to the next club

Me too. It seems that because van Gaal is the grand old doyen of football (won nothing for a while now though) and at Utd then his shit is gilded with unicorn silk.
Great manager but I'm sick of the obsession before a ball is even kicked.
VG is going to have to deal with the fact that teams are no longer afraid to go there and attack.
when you look who won there last year - swansea, newcastle, everton etc you can hardly be afraid of what is basically the same team.
he's very very lucky their first 8 games are so easy and he's got time to work with them but imho they just don't have the talent.
I forsee eight weeks of fawning media followed by a spectacular collapse in November following their Everton, chav, city, liverpool games.
i shall literally wet myself laughing if VG is gone by the year end. If it doesn't look like united will make 4th the Glazers are going to be in a world of hurt.
Agreed, the man is a smug twat and seems like the kind who will sell his own players out if it means better PR for him. His antics during the WC were embarrassing with the extent he was desperate to draw everyone's attentions to how his tactical ploys had worked. Like when they went 88 minutes without scoring against Mexico. Or 120 against Costa Rica. Or 120 against Argentina. Cock.
Is it just me or has the media circus surrounding van gaal already gone into overdrive - All the journo's and especially sky & bt may as well get on their knees and suck his plonka - FFS!
He strikes me as being a right arrogant Crunt - with a face like melted cheese - perhaps him and the crim wheeler dealer 'arry' the window leaner are related.....
So anyone got any suggestions for a suitable name for the crunt.....
The media have always had their favourites, unfortunately that extends to every 'big club' aside from us
Van Gaal, Rodgers and Mourinho can do no wrong. On the flip side we're almost always predicted to fall out of the top 4, and apparently Sanchez for 30m is only 'okay' business, whereas Rodgers and Van Gaal are geniuses for paying 26m for Lallana and 27m for Shaw. The press hate Arsenal with a passion but love to arselick everyone else.

What I will say is despite the free run Ferguson always got and the wankfest over van Gaal, the press relentlessly hammered United last season to an unprecedented extent. They take pleasure in rubbing it in when we're struggling but that was vicious on a different scale.
when he gets fired in January it will be "Van Gone" or "Van Hell"....
the Daily Mail, whose football coverage i've always enjoyed - along with the Telegraph and the Sunday Times, have had an article on VG every single day for two weeks.
they are all setting him up to either be the new messiah or a spectacular fall.
