Van Persie saga, officially not extending contract.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The guy is living in a gin & brandy induced bubble. You don't understand him? How dare he have the audacity to actually want to win things and receive more money!
I guess he just wants to make RvP look like an ungrateful (mercenary) c**t so the fans turn against him instead of the board.
I reckon RVP is doing a pretty good job of that himself, mate! :(

Yep, I was one of his biggest fans on here when he spent a majority of his time on the treatement table because knew he was class but just needed an injury free run, when that ONE season materialises he gets all billy big bollox and acts like a complete and utter prick.

Makes you wonder that all those times on the treatment table he only had minor niggles but couldn't be arsed to get out on the pitch, I bet he played through plenty of "little niggles" last season urged on by his agent who could see his value increasing with every goal :?

Wonder if he had had 3/4 years left on his contract if he would have played as many games as he did.......not that I'm cynical

He's right for once, unless he's gonna leave for City (who will over take United and dominate for the next few years) then what is the point of leaving us for United (who have their own 'ambition' worries re they can't compete for the big players anymore) unless it is for money.

United are going to have a period like they did a few years back when Chelsea stood on their toes, it will be a sideways move and they are not that much different to us now, their period of dominance is over and last year they won the same as us and were more embaressing than we were in the CL.

United is no longer a big jump.

Even if they get this expected financial windfall from the stock floatation ? My understanding is that it was gonna bring in a fortune so that allied with the worldwide rep that c**tbag club has and the status of old whiskey nose would mean that they will be a major force still in the coming years :(

Agreed. Write them off at your peril. If I had an extra toe for every time their "Era of Dominance" had supposedly come to an end over the last 10 years... well, I'd have six toes on each hand, no penis, false tits, and you'd all be calling me brazilianGOONER. :D

Yeah right.Utd lost the title on GD having lost both derby games.City are a team of basket cases Balotelli Tevez Nasri.United have a manager in Ferguson who will not accept 2nd best unlike our loser Wenger. And Utd only finished 19 pts ahead of us a real sideways move

The stock flotation is to pay down the debt which the Glazers are currently struggling with. It's unlikely to give them an instant fighting fund. However I agree it is too early to right the bastards off.

Whether he accepts it or not that's the situation they are in.

They face the same challenges as we do.

If Wengers summer business was Kagawa and Powell and we were looking at a few years of much smaller spend then we are used to then you would be irate.

Write them off at your peril yes but don't be naive to think that they are at the top of the tree now because the City machine is about to get in full flow and the rest are in the same boat, whatever way you dress it up there will always be 1 winner and 19 losers.

I could understand if he left for City but not United in their current situation.

Ps.Their fans are just as annoyed as we are, they can't sell their season tickets having been used to winning, that tells its own story, we have an excuse to be doom merchants.

I think thats a great point, when Eduardo got injured we were all set to win the league but we missed goals....where was RVP? injured, nioo sign of a retunr....when he is ni the big time, media sucking his proverbial....he always seemed to be playing....Egotastic..money driven....we dont wanna believe it really...but there is evidence to suggest thats the case.
