Clint Dempsey wants a move to us according to SI . That wouldn't be a bad squad addition - 20 goals in all competitions last year - 16 in the prem, even though Fulham were pants. We could rotate him with Pod until Pod settles in.
One of the better players in the league. Genuinely interested in playing for CL unlike those money grabbers. At the end of the day we are not going to get some one like Hazard without throwing our precious money. We could do much worst than Dempsey. It can turn out like Arteta signing. There was no reason to wait until last hour to sign some one like Arteta.

Agree with this - get him in. Decent striker, whole hearted, good scoring record and far superior to any of the tossers we've got bar RvP
I really hope we sign Demspey. He is quality and class. He's proven himself in the EPL. On top of being a quality player, he has heart. Far better than the douchebags who currently warming the bench. If he doesn't start, he would be game changer coming off the bench.

my thoughts exactly. he's a trier and we could do with some of that - plus it would be a luxury to have two competant strikers fighting for a spot next to RvP, instead of a prospect and a 'find', neither of whom would be french.

Guardian are reporting Kagawa may be joining Utd soon for 18m Euros. We should be after this bloke as opposed to, say, Kalou.

But United have failed in a bid of around £12.8m for Borussia Dortmund's Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa, 23.

I'm now certain more than ever that M'Vila will line up for us next season following his latest comments. It sounds too much like Wenger when he's denying a deal. Bet the club gagged M'Vila and his agent from revealing anything.

As many of you are aware, I am a big fan of Javi Martinez so I watched the first 60mins or so of the copa del rey finals last night as his bilboa side faced barca. To my delight when the team was announced I discovered that he was restored to his rightful DM position having played at centre back for the last couple of months. However last night, in my opinion at least, he was absolutely woeful as the barca midfield played through bilboa for fun - when in possession he looked very comfortable and assured on the ball but he rarely got close enough to tackle the barca midfielders (although when he did get close enough he won almost all of the challenges 8) ).

Last night barca looked like the all dominating side we have seen for most of the last few seasons so I know getting the runaround from them is nothing to be ashamed of but last night martinez looked quite slow and cumbersome  I also accept the fact that he was playing in a very young midfield where his team-mates kept chasing the ball like schoolkids which often left him exposed in the middle of the park but I cant help but feel disappointed in how he played.
Last night was the first poor game I have seen him play in comparison to a load of great performances but if he is to stop up to the very top level he will def need to up his game from last night

Augie, M'Vila is better than Martinez. We are going for the right player.

Bielsa has said that he sees Martinez as a CB long term. I agree he was chasing shadows last night and looked nothing special.

Apparantly Sagna has made comments along the lines of M'Villa will fit in very well and with the French contingent will settle in easily !

Wishfull thinking or a slip of what is happening ?
