I think it opens 1st July (although of course nothing to stop agreements being struck before then).

As proven by barca, monaco, norwich and the chavs to name just a few - this is the time that clubs who have a player/players on their to buy list, move swiftly in a bid to do the deal before any other club usurps them or even drives the price up. Of course this is also the time when our manager gives his time to showing his in depth knowledge of all things by doing punditry on the confederations cup, the euro u-21s, international friendlies, the economic crisis in greece, the ongoing stand off in korea, the price of the breakfasts down holloway road and of course the unfair financial advantage the jones would have over the smiths if they won the lottery

At last an idea resembling common sense

I argued last season that it makes far more financial sense to work out some sort of pay off with these unwanted players cos paying half or three quarters of their last seasons wages on one lump sum to get them off the books is better than paying them monthly but for the full 12 months

It's funny but the season renewal deadline hasnt expired yet but all the talk of signing higuain has dried up whilst the talk is that we are going to lose out on villa and jovetic so all we are left with is some perma injured c**t from ligue 2, a nigerian with fcuk all experience at the top level and some kid from villa

No but well placed sources within the club could be "leaking" these non stories to the media who lets face it, have history of believing and repeating the most bullshit of rumours (anybody remember the didier baptiste rumour ?

I think fans look for some signs of positive ambition before renewing.....anything else would be just throwing away money out of stupidity surely ?

Arsène Wenger admits interest in signing Wayne Rooney for Arsenal
"Rooney could be an interesting player for everybody in the world, who would turn him down?" Wenger told Al Jazeera. "David Moyes' first challenge is to go in to Manchester and bridge the gap between him and Rooney. If that is feasible or not depends on his personality and if Rooney bears a grudge or not – we will see. It will be interesting to see how that will be handled."
Wanyama wants Arsenal move, but agent says the step up could be too big for £10m Celtic man
And Abeels claims Arsenal will be at the front of the queue, telling Sportsmail: ‘Victor’s father Noah calls me almost every week and he tells me Arsenal’s interest is big.
‘Wenger spoke to Celtic around a month ago and Victor’s father and his mother Mildred says he would prefer to go there before any other club.
‘I will be speaking to his parents again in a week’s time and Victor also. But I already know that Arsenal have a big interest in the player.
‘Everything can change in a minute. It takes just one phonecall.
‘It’s all a bit of a show at the moment. It’s all a game. It’s all about money.
‘But Victor wants to go to a club where he will play.
‘He is still young and I have told him he needs to be careful about when he takes the really big step.
‘I think myself that it’s better that he has a step in between before going to the really big level.’
...
‘Celtic play nice football,’ he adds. ‘But every competition is different and the English Premier League is the really big one. It’s just a question of what level Victor goes to.
‘Van Persie went to Arsenal then moved on later to Manchester United. Victor can do the same if he goes to Arsenal. And I believe that is what he wants. He wants to go to Arsenal.’

I have to say that, over the short time I have been visiting this forum I always felt you were a chap of the strongest convictions and stuck by what you felt, and that is something I respect. I rarely agree with much you say regarding Arsene and the direction of the club etc but other things you comment on seem to me to be considered. That line however, .... bloody hell! really? you really feel that?augie wrote:highburyJD wrote:if any season ticket holder of a Prem club is renewing
