Don't be hypocrites is all 8)
The difference being Mahrez has far superior technical ability, can score and assist with the guile and skill to create something from nothing. Can the same be said about Vardy?
What's the point of getting a creative player when we haven't got a striker to put them away?
Ozil created 148 chances, only 19 got converted. Ozil stats pissed all over Mahrez. If he can hit 22 with Leicester , he can hit 30 for us.

Underwhelmed with this speculation however i will add that having seen some more clips of Xhaka recently, Vardy is the type of player who will excel from Granit's long balls over the defence that he likes to play up. :rubchin:

But we would have to tweak the team to suit this style of play and we know AW does not change things no matter who is in the squad or what opposition we are against. :banghead:

About time Wenger looks for a player who plays of the last mans shoulder. I never understood the concept of wanting to play a crisp passing game along the ground, with a striker whose best qualities are in the air :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Vardy would do well for us, we would create chances for him and he would score. I would also like to see Giroud pegged down, especially after his comments about having a good season, and comparing his form to Mesut Ozil's. I have always liked Giroud, but saw him as a back up striker and plan B. However, his recent comments and actions (ear cupping) have made me loath him. He reminds of Denilson who badly reacted to criticism. He said he wanted to leave and 'win medals'. The poor kid was so delusional he actually though Chelsea, United, Barcelona, AC Milan, Bayern were going to move for him. Although he ended back in Brazil and his next move thereafter was the Middle East. Does Giroud think he will be coveted? The only club he has been linked to is Wolfsburg - and hat sounds about right. But im sure in his own mind, he might consider himself a worthy replacement for Zlatan at PSG, or perhaps thinks City, Chelsea, United or Bayern would move for him.

I know he wont sell both, but either Walcott or Giroud has to be sold this season. These two players were supposed yo be our top strikers this year, and both of them badly let the club down. By letting both players stay, its Wenger saying its acceptable to put your hand up for a job, then shy away form the job. There was much discussion on a new strikers last season, and these two said 'no, its ok, i can score the goals'. Wenger went with them, and they failed miserably. Is Wenger a doormat? Will Wenger allow to be embarrassed like this? Propably, as he is weak.

We've been crying out for an aggressive, nasty, ruthless streak, and all of a sudden it looks like we could sign the one player who opitomises that - we should be excited about the prospect.

Vardys killer instinct could bag us a huge amount of extra points and would have made the difference in some of the stale toothless results this season... I.e. Southampton at home, Swansea at home etc

Remember my much maligned tongue in cheek Jamie Vardy thread in Jan. He would have won us the league last season no doubt. The question is can he scored that many goals in an Arsenal team with the likes of oil behind him, he'll yeah.

His age isn't an issue for me he, wrighty was no spring chicken when he came to us, we could get at least 3 seasons out of vardy. He looks after himself and as he gets older his movement will make up for any loss of pace.

Chat shit get banged 8)

As has been said already he lives off the quick ball on the counter. How that equates to home games at the bowl when teams set up with 10 players in their own half is anyone's guess.

The worry would be was last season a one off or can he maintain that form. I seem to remember the year before last when Leicester looked destined to go down Vardy being relegated to the bench because he'd gone 20+ games without a goal.....sound familiar!

If we were going the premier league route I'd have preferred Lukaku myself but if it's nobody or Vardy then sign the fucker up.

The Most IMPORTANT Ingredient in all of this and Any other signings is Wenker - Ranieri Managed (yes pun intended) to get players like Vardy to play at the top of their game for 80 - 90% of the season - THAT is why Leicester are The Champions - We are and will continue to be the also rans for the remainder of the time that Wenger continues to pocket his £8.3 Million a year for being a Success in Failure.

edit: Okay fine sign Vardy but I somehow do not see the Wenger affect improving on what the player did last season, because he was managed by a proper manager in a team and system that was 'designed' to utilise his skills to the very best of the collective ability of the team and how they played.

You forgot to add in, get paid £140k per week or £4,000 to touch the ball at Old Trafford.. No one else would sanction that surely..

Anyway fuck Vardy, the best piece of transfer news this morning is that Wilshere is being linked with City again :barscarf:

Seriously if we can offload that sick note for mega bucks it will make my summer. Fingers crossed he has a decent Euros and his ankle made of cornflakes isn't discovered during the medical 8)

Don't see what the problem is with Vardy tbh, he will score loads away from home. £20m for a 20 goal a season striker is a snip these days.

Even when away teams park the bus, he is intelligent enough like wrighty was to find the space required to get a shot away.

What racist comments has he made? I hardly think that in a multi cultural team like Leicester that Vardy would say anything prejudiced.

We need a striker, it's a season late but it's better to get someone like him rather than go another season with the french porn star up front!

With Welbeck's latest long term injury TO1AW no doubt sees Vardy as the perfect new left wing back to carry on his fine tradition of ruining proven central strikers out there. Put in the file marked Podolski

An Arsenal supporter once justified Podolski's transfer to me by saying he didn't work hard enough and left the left back exposed too often...That, to me,sums up the treatment of Podolski more than Podolski himself..
