Just like he never would after the previous 8 Summers of transfer misery, record breaking 8-2 defeats and not winning a trophy for 8 years?
He's bombproof. The minute the final whistle blew on the midweek wankathon vs Besiktas, Stan's little money making machine delivered another £30m and guaranteed his future was secure once more.
So you think Stan would spend £20m+ paying off the remainder of the new contract he just signed. Dream on Rodders !

Oh for fucks sake SteveO, that 8-2 hiding wasn't the big game that week!!

With the quality in Man Us team (offensively) it's inevitable they will start to click whilst we look like we are getting worse every game we play.
They had quality last year but didn't click so it is not a given that they will this year either. There is nothing to say we can't click is there. Look back to the Community Shield game. That wasn't very long ago and we looked good in there.
If this team clicks we should get our customary top four spot again. I do think we need to sign a couple more decent proven players to ensure it though. 1st and 2nd are tough to get now with Chelsea and Man City tipping the scales in the way that they are but there is no reason we cannot get 3rd. We'll definitely have to improve on the shit we are playing at the moment though.
I was disappointed to read this morning that another target and top player falcao has agreed a deal elsewhere (allegedly).
Spuddy we beat a largely 2nd string citeeh team who treated the game as the meaningless friendly that it really is
As One of those who last week argued that our transfer business seemed sharper when le cock was in brazil, can I just clarify my position - I feel that gazidas should be doing the business side of the deal and when that is all agreed, then le cock should meet up with him for a chat on what he see's as the players role at our club. Having continually said publicly that he didn't need to buy players, what kind of message will it send to players today when he cant even be arsed to be involved in any deals today ? If I was a player on the verge of signing today for AFC then I would question if the manager really wanted me or if it was a signing being pushed by the club
I think today is going to see a new record set for the amount of There's Only One Arsene Wenger's I can fit into one day.......the Wenger tourettes is setting in badly with every minute of the fruitless deadline day window that ticks by

Okay tell me, because I'm dying to know, how do you know the statement above in bold is true?
If he doesn't bring anyone in today, the wheels will most definitely come off this year. We just do not have any depth and with rivals strengthening, even with Sanchez, we won't make the top 4.
We have played 5 and had a decent performance in one half of those games. He really should have walked at the end of last season when he had the fans goodwill, but the knives will be out if he brings no one in.

He has to bring in one or two today. I fear that he is playing a dangerous game. I think he is trying to hold out for as long as possible to force clubs that want to offload players to take a smaller fee. In business this is a good ploy. In football it isn't!
If we don't sign anyone today the WOB's will be in full flight.

I meant that in context of actually being at the club to finalise negotiations and meet the player before or after a medical. Yes I know that he can talk to them over the phone, but it's hardly the same thing though is it ? I know that you are playing devils advocate re wenker in the last few days, but surely you can agree that his going out to referee a charity match in rome today is shocking and sends bad message as regards the importance of getting players in ?

The thing is that all fans wanted to see an assault on the Premiership this year. The financial shackles are off, remember. New Puma deal - blah blah blah. The problem is that we have the dithering parsimonious bellend as the manager.
I think that if no one comes in, Wenger will be sitting on a powder keg at the Emirates. As soon as something goes wrong - why does he do it to himself every year? Every year, we all say that we are about 3 quality players light and that is without people leaving. It is like he is scared to actually spend the money available because he will then be held to account to how he fares against the other big boys. It is pathetic really.
SteveO he's actually making a bomb for himself with his gross and utter mismanagment of the squad this window, a bomb that will blow uP in his face as the season progresses. If I was told now finishing 8th would mean he would be gone at the end of the season then SIGN ME UP.

Would they not be justifed, Spuddy?
To go into the season proper without Giroud and with Sanogo as de facto number-one striker would certainly warrant serious questions as to whether Wenger is just taking the fucking piss.
