Can the impossible really happen to The Spuds?

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Funnily enough I think that this supposed over-reliance on bale is a myth -today glen johnson hardly gave him a kick and they won, last week v us he hardly got a kick on they won and imo van der vaart is a much more crucial player for them but when bale has a good game every so often it is usually a great game but in between he is ordinary

Who comes 3rd then
Quite possible that the top four at end of season could be:

Man Utd
Chelsea
Spurs
Man City

Especially if Vermaelen and Cesc's injuries continue and we fail to buy in January.

Really?

I know I'm being optimistic when I think we can win the league but theres no chance in hell that spurs are going to get third, especially above us. We have been bad this season but spurs and man city have both been worse.

You're joking augie...Bale was one of their best players today. He resulted in what, 3 of their players gettinf booked, numerous free kicks around the edge, and glen johnson couldn't give him a kick cos he spent most of the game, when he was actually given the ball, flying past him.

I know people want to shit on spurs cos it makes us all feel better, but Bale is becoming a distraction to allow others (mainly Modric) much more freedom - and we should know better than anyone that when you have a quality player playing at the top of his game, he's going to get some special attnetion. But that also means others have more space to play.

And that's what's going on.

Because for some strange reason it was revived after 16 months. :banghead: :banghead: As some others have subsequently commented before I got to see it, I decided to relegate rather than lock the thread.

The other sides are a serious threat to us, considering our defence is a mess, does not mean I WANT them to finish above us.

We will finish above City and the Spuds, and probably reasonably comfortably. I still think we will finish 2nd myself.
