As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Almunia looked better than Flappy (not hard really)
Song had a decent game
Eboue had an awesome game
Nasri looked ok
Wenger finally saw sense and played Ramsey
Bad points:
Silvestre was fucking shocking!!
Walcott was good, until he actually had to do anything with the ball. Shocking performance
Good, confidence boosting result even if it was a little laboured in the middle of the game. Walcott had one of his better recent games, there was one moment where he burst through & cut inside the box before firing a shot which admittedly didn't go in, but a glimpse of what he's capable of when on form.
Eboue was excellent, top notch. What he does, that not many others do is run at defenders & drive into the box which we saw him do numerous times today. OK, it might not always come off but props to him for grabbing things by the balls a bit & injecting some urgency. Rightly got a standing ovation when subbed.
With manure dropping points, we need to push on from here.
OK, 3 points gained, and apart from Eboue having a decent game, it was same old same old Arsenal. 600 trillion percent possession with no end product. I really can see why Bendtner was the reason why Wenger didn't go into the market for an out and out striker can't you?!?!? STAY IN THE MIDDLE SON, THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE THERE FOR
Theo mate. I've defended you on this Forum everytime you come up for discussion. Today..........well let's just say I'm lost for words really.
Still, altogether now, 'We're gonna win the league, we're gonna........'
Good performance, a bit worrying at times though, especially when we get cut open so easily.
That article is bizarre.... is it written by Daddy Walcott?
Walcott did terrorise the Sunderland back four (their left back was left on his arse loads of times), but he did nothing. His crosses were either went straight over everyone, or landed with the keeper for an easy catch. He just looked really low on confidence, and.... low on ability!!

But he still can't combine running at speed with the ball under close control. Even the famous Liverpool run involved him kicking it a few yards in front of him rather than dribbling with it tight to himself.
The only thing I could see that was a plus for him today was that, particularly in the first half, he kept coming in from the wing and making runs along their back line but yet again the player on the ball either didn't see him or they simply don't trust him to go one on one with the keeper. To be honest that, coupled with recent examples where team mates didn't square the ball when he was completely unmarked, would knock a lot of players' confidence.
For me walcott started well but it didnt last
Nasri had a good game
Eboue was great
song was good
bendtner seemed a little lazy at times
Fabs was good
and ramsey seemed pretty tight , Some poor passing at times but overal not a bad performance.
Things can some times look a bit different at a game so ill watch again on football first.
Considering Eboue got so much stick last season, it is amazing to see how different a player he is when he plays in his most natural position as right back. I really felt for him when that day and to see him turn in a performance like he did today and how good he looked going forward and also looked pretty solid at the back.
I always felt that year we got into the CL final he was one of the main reasons, he was the best right back in the world that year by a mile and only lost his place because Wenger bought Sagna and was hoping Eboue could push into midfield.
Was a shame we didnt get a few more today because again we looked pretty nervous at times but one game at a time and who knows...
But - two goals scored and none conceeded. That's what matters !
OK Rob, I've had a few as usual. But you've confused me here. I was one of the booers for Eboue last season. (sounds like a self help group) but I was leading the singing of his name in the south end today. However every time in the second half when the ball came any where near Silvestre I was almost shitting my pants. He was lost and had no idea how to cope with Bent/Jones. I was praying for Sol to come on.
Reality check its 2010 and i'm praising Eboue and want Sol to play. I'm in an episode of Dr Who.
Very nervous game for me but right result. Big issues are we cannot score with such dominant possession and we always look like we will concede with every opposition attack.
As they said on MOTD it could have been 10-0 or a draw.
