Almunia appreciation thread

saved us from defeat last night. to call him average would be a crime. almunia is mistake prone and cost us at brum, but he can make the hardest saves look easy.

Deserves tremendous credit for the few good and couple of great saves he made.

However, also deserves criticism for the first Barca goal.

Still, all in all it could have been a lot worse!!!

I appreciate it every time he plays because it means that Fabianski and Mannone do not. He is in the top 10 keepers in the country - that's not a fabulous achievement because the Premiership is littered with average ones right now, but he is certainly far better than the imposters that we have lined up in reserve.

off the top of my head I would rather have
Cech, VDS, Given, Reina, Friedel, Hart, James, Schwarzer, Jaaskelainen, Green, Howard, Hahneman, Gomes, Gordan, Simonsen, Cudicini, Harper
I'm sure there's more I haven't thought of, haven't really followed the lower leagues this year - that Ankegran at Leeds looked good in their cup run, Kaspar Schmeicel's been playing well.

Oh please lets not start the Schmiecal thing again the guys really not that good just because his dad was second best keeper in the world at the time dosnt mean Kasper is any good. Not prem standard YET. He is only young so might well go on to be great but will be hounded out worse than Almunia if he came here. Green are you having a laugh? The guys pony Almunia shits on his gloves. A Leeds keeper? Do me a favour. Cech is also woeful now days but has the reputation to let him get away with it. Gomes can be superman one minute but make worse mistakes than Mooney the next the guys a massive liability. Simonsen? Lol. Sorenson? Lol. Harper? Lol. Hart? Lol. James? SUPER FUCKING MASSIVE HUGE LOL. Haneman? VERY LOL. Cudicini? SOMEONE TURN THE TAPS OFF THE ROOMS FILLING WITH LOL.
