Get your coat arsene you useless twat!
To suggest that Chamakh & Squillaci aren't good enough for the league are plain wrong. Chamakh set Ligue 1 alight scoring loads and Squillaci is an experienced, Champions League winning, tough centre-back;
With Jack being given an opportunity, Theo finally coming good and some of the players who underperformed last season sorting themselves out, I don't think we are any weaker and are infact much stronger.

56 goals in 230 apps Chamakh, a goal every 4 games, lethel eh
Who did Squillaci win the cl with?
lol at the Theo comment
who has sorted themselves out then?

I'd like to think he'd hang around the bins out the back of Lidl, where those obscure discarded products nobody's heard of are a bit past their best, but never mind - they're free!!SteveO 35 wrote:Nah - he'd pop to Lidl where everything is available at "the right price"TeeCee wrote:You're surprised Wenger didn't have a backup to schwarzer? So what if players didnt want to talk to Gallas, the fact remains he is still a decent player and apart from Vermaelen is better than what we have at the moment, that *word censored* Sheringham and Cole never spoke to each other but they still did the business. I dont think that you can compare ligue 1 to the premiership, the fact remains that at this level both Chamakh and Squillaci are unproven and therefore are a gamble. To me Bendtner is shit, always has been and will never make it at this level, I admire your optimism but yet again we will win fuck allRobsy wrote:1. It will be the same old story, getting battered by anyone decent and winning fuck all with the same embarrassing ***** excuses from the twat of a manager that we haveRobsy wrote:I think Wenger's done well in the transfer market this summer. Wenger hasn't succeed in one area, but that said, I reckon he's identified who he wants and he probably wasn't available. Either January - or more likely - next summer he'll buy a keeper.
Aside from RVP's injury I have a feeling that this year will be a good one for the club.
2. Campbell won't last a full season, he's a sub at best;

I admit that the goalkeeping position is the most worrying, but so long as we score more than everyone else we'll be okay!!

He should be dropped and if not booed. Mannone, Scezney or James Shea in, Laurel and Hardy can fuck iff.
Sorry IG i dont want to be rude but if you think any of those keepers are any better NOW than Almunia ????? then you need your brain scanning for activity.
Almunia is a poor mans Cava but the rest dont even make a fizz.....
I agree with what you are saying. Wenger wonders why our only world-class player wants to leave in the summer, when he sees Barce succeeding on every level.GoonerN5 wrote:So what if players didnt want to talk to Gallas, the fact remains he is still a decent player and apart from Vermaelen is better than what we have at the moment, that c**t Sheringham and Cole never spoke to each other but they still did the business. I have no doubt in my mind that Wengers ignorance in not signing ANY top-class players this season will have angered the likes of Fab, and Arshavin.
I don't even think Arshavin wants to play for us anymore, if you watch him when he plays, he just looks completely disinterested in the team.
I am slowly, but surely losing faith in Wenger altogether. I don't think he will ever buck his ideas up, and it's a real shame.
1. True. But, he wasn't always used as a striker and spent a couple of seasons being used as a sub. He normally scored double figures every season and also, important goals.selsdon wrote:To suggest that Chamakh & Squillaci aren't good enough for the league are plain wrong. 2. Monaco. Read the Arsenal website:
"Prior to his time in Spain with Sevilla, Squillaci enjoyed a successful spell in France with Lyon by winning back-to-back Ligue 1 titles in 2007 and 2008. The combative defender was also part of AS Monaco's impressive Champions League campaign in 2004, helping the side reach the Final by beating Real Madrid and Chelsea en route."
3. Well, 3 games and 4 goals is a good start. Of course he needs to be consistent, but his movement is better and fingers crossed it continues.
4. Well, last year Clichy, Sagna and Arshavin were rubbish. They can all play much better and hopefully they will.

What a stupid point. Basically you're judging a player before he has had the opportunity to prove himself. On that basis, signing Henry would've been a bad idea.selsdon wrote:To suggest that Chamakh & Squillaci aren't good enough for the league are plain wrong. The stats lieselsdon wrote:who's slagging off Chamakh, merely trying to say we haven't strengthened (due to no eddie, nicky and rvp) and that all he is at the moment is a hopeful punt
and i was directly referring to the post where he was supposed to have set 'ligue one on fire'
the stats don't bear that out
