No we wouldn't. We still need a top goalkeeper that doesn't cost us points and a proper top quality DM that can dominate and help dictate games. Adding the granny raper would be a step forward I agree, but not the decisive step.
Totally agree Rooney would be a massive step forward but without a top keeper and defensive midfielder we wont win the league.

but i dont know why we are discussing this he wont come to Arsenal while someone like Wenger is the manager

One other name I'd like to speculate on is Inter Milan. The media is yet to consider these guys a potential move, and I'm not sure how Rooney feels about Italy, but this could very well be another potential candidate:

-Ferguson would likely prefer to keep Rooney out of the EPL

-Ferguson may be interested in Sneijder, who has stated his love of United, in a swap + cash deal

-Benitez's Inter has not been playing incredibly well, Benitez is a manager who loves having a world beating CF (Torres), Rafa would probably like to put his own mark on the team and will also know first hand how dangerous Rooney is

Barriecuda wrote:No Rooney for me, I like following a team of classy players, and he's too much of a media magnet/circus (as are most top-tier English players).

I hear 20m and now Guardiola is suggesting a 25m move... is that all he's worth? I'm surprised at those offers, they seem low... I guess teams are trying to steal a deal since he's out of form and essentially transfer listed. .
Its because he has 18months on his contract and can buy out the last year for just £5mill using the Webster rule. Utd dont hold the cards like we did with Cesc. In a sense its like our deal for Chamakh, we made a take it or leave it offer.

If they dont get rid of him in Jan for £25mill at best then they will get peanuts in the summer.

Can you imagine rooney blossoming under benitez? The guy is a big man-baby... if ferguson cant keep him happy then benitez sure as hell wont.

Having said that, if inter wave enough 20s infront of his face the pig probably wont think twice.

How about Liverpool? Maybe their new owners will make a big splash, and they could probably make up a big portion of the cost by selling Torres.

Gerrard and Rooney playing together? The English faithful would love it.

That's an interesting idea...certainly there is the whole United/Liverpool hatred thing to conisder oh and that Everton/Liverpool hatred thing too.

BUT he would be a literal God to the Liverpool supporters because now he would help them torment their two deadliest rivals, it would as you say be marvellous statement of intent by the new owners that would win them their supporters loyalty and trust straight away, and because of the whole England NT thing it would lead a lot of people to quickly put aside their criticism of Rooney much the way when the World Cup came around people forgot just what a *word censored* Engalnds's John Terry is and will always be.

I hate to say it but this one makes real sense especially if Torres wants away now. I just don't know if he's worth the trouble that he seems to have created for himself now. Yes he is a *word censored* but John Terry has actually done a half-decent job on the pitch since he confimed that. Rooney has done nothing - partly down to injury I'm sure but I think his head's a bit more messed than Chelsea's *word censored*'s head is now.
