Sounds too good to be true. But on the other hand, I can imagine why Cesc is a bit fed up with Barça. I will never forget how he got booed in Camp Nou back in March.
Very True.

The boo-ing, whistling and cat-calling the Barca fans gave him at the Nou Camp when his name was called out and when he was subbed off was truly unbelievable. There was a distinct amount of complete disrespect from all the Barca fans near us (up in the Gods.)

I thought it was a strange reaction from a club that apparently are desperate for him.

Does anyone know when Fabregas' contract expires? I always thought it was 2015, but a few reports about his transfer say 2014.

I thought that a player that is 3 seasons into his contract can buy out the remainder of his contract and just walk away........is that not the case anymore or was that just bullshit talk ? :?

Remember how we feel when that c*nt talks about wear and tear and how his value has gone down....And then imagine how that must make Cesc feel as well. He is a hero here and we are desperate to keep him.

I wonder whether the reality though is that this is a much bigger thing for Cesc and for us than it is for Barca and their fans. From their point of view he is a very good prospect, but one who wouldn't get straight in their team.

Ideally I'd fuck Barca over on this one, if Madrid came in with a bid of around £40 to £45 million, I'd tell Barca if you don't beat their offer you won't get Cesc. Please help us Real 8)

And if Cesc doesn't like it then tough 8)

Debt-ridden Barcelona have resorted to extreme measures to try and cough up the £35million Arsenal are demanding for their captain Cesc Fabregas.

President Sandro Rosell revealed the club, who are £400m in the red, have cut back on office supplies in a bizarre attempt to try and save some cash.

Strapped for cash: Barcelona have cut back on office supplies
Five ways Barca could save some pennies...Offer Arsenal some silverware in exchange for Fabregas - Arsenal's trophy cabinet is collecting dust and Barca could spare a couple of Copa del Rey's...
Buy Lionel Messi's kits in kids sizes

Convince Shakira to do the Xmas party entertainment for free by threatening to keep Gerard Pique in for extra training

Now they’ve finally got a shirt sponsor, why not go whole hog and be first club to sell space on their shorts and socks too?
Sack Guardiola - With the talent they've got, do Barca really need a manager?
Rosell told Catalunya's TV3: 'By being austere, hard and losing friends we removed the catering events, our bodyguards, and we have even stopped making photocopies in colour at the club. Now we do black and white and save on toner.'
The drastic measures taken to cut back on spending come as the club continue to chase the big-money signings of Fabregas and Manchester City and Chelsea target Alexis Sanchez.

Rosell is confident that the barmy cuts have had the desired affect and revealed that Barca have £40m to spend on players to ensure they keep ahead of their rivals.

But with Sanchez likely to command a fee of at least £38m they will need to raise over £30m more to afford both signings - that's a lot of ink.
As a result, the club may have to sell some of their Champions League-winning squad.
A lot of ink: Cesc Fabregas (left) and Alexis Sanchez (right) would cost a combined total of over £70m

He admitted: 'I am concerned about the club's economic sustainability. We have to balance the books.'
Rosell said: 'We have sorted out the situation and what the economic area has achieved means we have €45m (£40m) to spend on transfers this summer plus sales.'

they should do a charity collection to raise cash.

remember they're more than just a football club, people will give generously.

BREAKING NEWS

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13928823.stm
Arsenal are prepared to sell Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona if the two clubs can agree a price for the Spanish midfielder, BBC Sport has learned.

The Premier League club have rejected an initial bid for their captain but are now bracing themselves for an improved offer.

A senior Arsenal official said, "The offer was made formally in writing to our chief executive (Ivan Gazidis), and we said no straight away."

When asked if the club expected an improved offer this week, the source said, "Possibly yes, and if it's enough then I expect we'll have to sell."

Arsenal's stance appears to have shifted since last season when they rejected two offers from Barcelona for Fabregas, a former trainee at the Nou Camp, and stated they had no intention of selling him at any price.

Since then, American billionaire Stan Kroenke has taken control of the London club and now faces the first major decision of his reign.

Barcelona's president Sandro Rosell said last week that Fabregas was trying to pave the way for a return to the club he left as a 16-year-old, but that the heavily indebted Spanish giants would not pay more than £35m for him.

Barcelona's latest bid is reported to be around £27m, well short of Arsenal's valuation of more than £40m.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger may still object to any sale, and Kroenke will rely on his manager's guidance when making a decision.

But Arsenal's board, consisting of Kroenke, Gazidis, chairman Peter Hill-Wood and directors Ken Friar, Sir Chips Keswick and Lord Harris of Peckham are aware of the difficulties of keeping the 24-year-old against his will.

His recent injury problems, combined with the emergence of Jack Wilshere, and the likely arrival of Argentinian Ricardo Alvarez, may also have influenced their thinking.

Fabregas is in Barcelona this week on a holiday, and his former club would like to complete a deal before he has to return to pre-season training in London next Tuesday ahead of a tour to the Far East.

Sources in Spain say that Barcelona have already begun talks with one of Europe's leading sports agencies over maximising the commercial opportunities of Fabregas' potential homecoming, suggesting a degree of confidence the deal can be finalised.

Meanwhile, former director Lady Bracewell-Smith, who made million of pounds selling her 15.9% stake in the club to Kroenke this year, enabling him to take control of Arsenal, has rejected calls from some fans for the return of former vice-chairman David Dein, who was sacked in 2007.

On her Twitter account, Lady Bracewell-Smith said, "No Dein. Root cause of all the troubles at AFC. Unable to work with other board members."
Not sure how much of it is concrete evidence seeing as the source of the comments are only "a senior arsenal official" but still a bit worrying.

Yes, it was Dein who wanted to buy players, of course he couldn't work with the board.

The deal will be done this week, Wenger will then unveil some new signings to distract from Cesc' departure.
