Apparently we're "not defensively weak"

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Koscielny is ok in open play, poor at set pieces.

Hope we buy another defender (perhaps Vertonghen who plays centre back/left back and denesive midfield?) in January, and bring back Keown to coach defence.

Except for when he unnecessarily plays a high line; allows his opponent to drift in behind him or when in possession constantly gives the ball away, yeah?

He has those faults, but he also has good games where he tackles excellently and battles.

He should not be a starter but a fourth choice behind Vermaelen, Mertesacker and a new signing.

New signings.......Jesus, we MUST NOT let Wenger throw any more money away on any more signings!!!!!
The ONLY thing that can save Arsenal's season is to get rid of Wenger now, tonight. Bring in someone like Ancelotti on a short term contract if need be just to get some stability and to have someone who has some tactical nous, someone who prepares for games and adapts to the opposition. Our current manager won't even change the formation let alone bring tactics to our game!

All this talk about new signings is worthless the transfer window is closed we need something done right now.The most obvious thing is get a new manager or failing that at least get some one who can coach our team on how to defend, and its ridiculous with the defenders tht we had at the club like keown adams dixon cant be coaxed into taking a job at the club.

They don't hold a line and they don't appear to communicate with each other

A simple shout from Kos would have alerted Per that Yakubu was going diagonally behind him, instead he watched him do it.
