THE ARSENAL CAPTAINCY: THE ABUSE CONTINUES

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I don't doubt that they could win it, but a forgone conclusion??? no way! there's a bit of difference between getting kicked and getting done, we had three horrendous leg breaks in three and a half seasons caused by reckless and malicious tackles are you sayin that Messi and Xavi etc would be immune to this :?

Regarding players and cars, houses etc:

10 years ago whilst working for a bank a premier league football player, who was customer, had to be transfered from my portfolio to our debt mangagement unit (I won't name the bank or player for obvious reasons).

His salary was around £10k p/w (net) and his outgoings listed direct debits to Mercedes and two other car companies that I forget accounting for around 80% of his income.

So they may have all these expensive toys but most are on HP unless they're at the very, very top of the game.

Young men with more money than sense will spend beyond their means, as it's all about status and bragging rights.

PS he was a shit player too.

You seem to!!! - you debated over a minor point regarding AW's positive influence on Adams' career which imo was extremely picky considerin the context in which it was written and as I have reasoned in my last post, was hardly innaccurate in any place :?
n6gooner wrote:the lack of strong characters in the sqaud was the original issue and remains the point. my comment (which you challenged) is that he surrounds himself with yes-men who daren't contradict him - the fact adams and vieira coach elsewhere speaks volumes
which is why Roy Keane, Mark Hughes and Steve Bruce etc. are AF's No.2s right??? and you still haven't answered my point about Ferguson, Redknapp and Souness on why you think AW deserves criticism for this particularly when AF who is arguably the greatest football manager ever is a complete tyrant!

what a load of pompous guff, yeah right I should seek to understand you while you misquote me or avoid the issue altogether when it suits!

Oh it's you again, I thought you were away :? is your head so far up your own arse that you're seriously suggesting that the fact that this debate has deteriorated to where it is now, is anything other than your doing???

i've just read this thread's last few pages, and there are some fucking great posts by belfast boy along the way. good to have you back, sir. for seconds it reminded me of the time there was a lot of interesting discussion in here.

i am disappointed with the way wenger has been running the club for the last couple of years and i'm not sure if he still has what it takes to turn it around, but this forum has become quite boring with all the negativity. there is no single thread here without abuse to wenger, it's like we were relegated to league 2 or something. people throw abuse at each other because of disagreeing with "facts" they themselves made up through assumptions.

i used to come here many many times everyday, it was fun, respectful and had a decent number of good discussions. now all i look for are barry's gifs.

to me it looks like the forum's average age has dropped some fifteen years in two years.

and to make it even worse, there's babatunde now. in my eyes he's a symbol of what this forum became :(

EDIT: forget about the "respectful" part, i don't where i took that from

Oh dear. What are you bringing my name up for then? You talk about average ages and then you proceed to show all the intellectual acumen of a 12 year old on a Haribo high. Sod off please....don't bring my name up Mr Supa-dupa-fan unless I reference you please.

If you claim to some form of intellectual superiority, it'd probably be a good idea to demonstrate a modicum of it....
