Spuds are ahead of Arsenal in the league.

Fact is Spurs are def in the title race. Meanwhile we are desperately trying to get 4th. How the tables have turned.
And Spurs have managed to do this on gates half the size of ours???

So, where is the fucking money going?

baba issspot on with the moneyball analogy, however the thing that everyone misses with moneyball is the fact theat oakland athletics were still sh*t even with billy beans theories....they ultimately won f*ck all and performed no better comparitavely with baseball teams that didnt employ the same theories.....

Hilarious to be STILL reading some people incapable of accepting reality. One even said "cream rises to the top". Wow, well this cream at Colney has turned to sour putrid mess, because it's not been top for seven years!!! (unless you count 4th as top).
Cream rises to the top? Yah. I can also see the same team that lost 8-2 at OT, beaten at home by Mousers, beaten by Steve Kean, beaten by Spuds and incapable of dealing with Wolves or Fulham...well sure, it will rise to the top. Because our name is Arsenal. Never mind the club is packed with *****, we will finish above Spuds because errr...we just will!
As arrogant an attitude as Wenger himself.

Most rational Arsenal fans accept that Spuds are a far superior team. Accepting it makes you sane and analytical. Denying it, makes you sound like the Spuds did when they'd claim they were almost as good as us; even though we'd whack them regularly!!!

Oh and "Redknapp almost sold Bale". What kind of a bloody pathetic comeback is that?! Wenger almost sold Flamini to Birmingham. Ferguson almost sold Beckham way back. Juve almost sold Del Piero. So what?

Fact is, for half the price, Spuds got five times the player and Bale is terrorising the league right now.

For double the price and double the wages, Wenget got a pussy who couldn't even terrorise an ant

wasn't a comeback against any poster here
or even against Sperz
just against twitcher who is 100% short-termist

the reason Spuds have a chance of overtaking us is a structure above him

next season v tough
prob lose Greedy, Bale and Modric
Parker loses some dynamism, no way Kings stays fit this much

but they still have some chance of finishing above us in consecutive seasons
when was the last time that happened?

Walcott's stats are very similar to Bale's so one of them is not as terrifying as you think...

...but also sad, as our decline was avoidable.

Apart from Wolves things haven't been that bad recently, so a bit soon to get too morose.

Rose-tinted spectacles? Theo may perform brilliantly but only in flashes but Bale - I hate to say - is right up there with the best.

Ah yes stats. Forget what your eyes show you, rely on the stats.

In other news, in the 2009/10 season, Denilson's stats for pass accuracy and completion were superior to Iniesta's, to Seedorf's, and to Alonso's!

And in the 2003 season, Kevin Phillips had better goal scoring stats than David Villa and Samuel Eto'o.

In the 2010/11 season, Michael Carrick had better pass stats than Xavi for a period of three months.

They're all "closer than you'd think"

So this is now the AKB's new stance... forget the Spuds finishing above us THIS season... that's all just hunky dorey just unless they don't finish above us NEXT season also.... what a load of fucking old tosh....

Edit... Oh... I can just see Walcott scoring a hat trick in the San Siro... (not even in my dreams)

Which is precisely why a change of manager alone, however tactically gormless he is, will not suffice. Our business model involves making a transfer profit every year - it gets highlighted in the accounts as an exception when we don't - and ensure that our property activities repay the debt finance.

We are run by people without a 'football network' anywhere in the world, and who probably did not know about Arsenal's existence until a few years ago when someone in their corporate structure presented them with an investment opportunity.

Levy is a Spurs fan - if anyone thinks that doesn't help, they're deluded. Did he go further to keep Modric, than any of our execs did to keep some of our top players in recent years? Why is he de-listing Spurs from the exchange? Why did he fight like fuck over the Stratford stadium? Why has he continued to back successive managers in the transfer market?

Because seeing a successful Spurs side is as important to him, as drawing the salary itself - in fact they go hand in hand. Gazidis and the people he surrounds himself with couldn't give a shit if we win trophies or not - as long as his bonuses keep getting paid and he achieve his corporate targets for Uncle Stan.....that's all that counts

whilst we're making up each others 'stances' your's is...
OK I won't go there but it involved Jayson

I want us to finish ahead of Spuds but I would instantly take 4th whoever finished above us. I also think Sperz will have a full rebuild job next season (Harry doesn't care he'll be in jail or the England job)

Walcott's hat-trick in Croatia was not only more important than Bale's consolation treble but more difficult
Inter relaxed once they had that game well won

Bale is an excellent, if slightly over-hyped, player
but if you are a forward/winger goals and assists are more than just important stats - they're your currency
I loved Hleb's style (final season) but his end product was lacking

When the Spuds do finish above us its gonna be interesting to see how Le Boss explains it away.

I am sure he has some excuse or another kicking around already prepared though.

Hmmmm lemme see what's harder...a hat trick in Zagreb in a dreary qualifier?
Or a hat-trick in the San Siro, against the reigning European champions in the world's biggest club competition....

Walcott's musta been more important which explains why Bale won PFA Player and Walcott will never even be nominated. Bale would easily fetch £35-40 mil in the open market now. Walcott? LOL Bale is in a different class to Walcott. It'd take an epic retard not to see that one how embarrassing!

Whatever next? Park is in Rooney's class?
Perhaps Chamakh is up there with Samuel Eto'o?
Or perhaps RVP is better than Ronaldo?

Drugs are bad. M'kay?

all that really matters is top 4
be gutting if for the first time ever under Wenger Spuds finish above us
but 3rd is essentially the same as 4th

missing the CL is the big issue
