I agree with all of this.Number 5 wrote:They're usually hanging out of their arses and sprinting down the road slurping cans of lager but by and large they usually turn up on time.![]()
One hour is plenty, we're usually quite competitive for the first half, then fall apart in the second. 30 mins each way should be plenty.

Let me put it to you this way.....you are more likely to see Arsenal winning another premier league under wenger - take that as you will

Augie do you still play footie on saturdays or sundays?
Does any of the team for that matter, be interesting to know.
I had given up for a couple of years before the game 3 years ago but have started playing the last two seasons so will be a lot fitter.
Have any of you guys started playing again?
Re: Sunderland Calling
I gave up playing 11-aside a few years ago now and stopped playing 6 a side last season. Do still play often though so hoping my fitness will be ok.LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:augie wrote:danno wrote:Buzzing for this, surely due a win one day!?

Re: Sunderland Calling
Haven't played 11-a-side for 12 years
But, have lost 7st in the last 12 months and playing 5-a-side three times a week and cycling at least 150km a week too so fitness levels should be good for 60 mins of ball

Still play a small bit and play in the over 35's league here each summer. Have to admit that I mostly play 5 a side nowadays cos nobody wants to play alongside someone my age in a proper team

Morning after a game is no fun though; knees and ankles go off like shotguns with every step... 38 years wear and tear...
