Hope he proves me right, I'm still slightly optimistic about next year, attacking wise anyway. I genuinely think if we sign a DM and a few defenders then we'd have a good squad :barscarf:
Would that be the French nobody who had just scored 3 goals in the world cupfinals whilst playing as a winger?
It's the Myth of Wenger, sid. You know how it goes. He took all these totally shite players (Overmars, Petit, Vieira, Bergkamp, Pires, Henry, Fabregas, RVP, Freddie, Adams, Seamo, Romford, Edu, Gilberto, Cashley etc) all totally shite, couldn't kick a ball straight type shite, real human filth type shite, and he, the Great Lord Vader, singlehandedly turned everyone of them into a great player. Wenger be praised. 8)

I'm not praising Wenger, I'm just saying you never know how a player will turn out.

Remember how Walcott was going to grow to be Arsenal's finest? And how Woijciech (no clue how to spell it) was never going to be first choice keeper?

Exactly. Don't judge a player before he plays a game.

Yeah, the one if I remember correctly that scored those goals in the group games then got left out when it mattered.

I'm sure someone will correct me on that if I'm wrong, it was a long time.ago.

You could be on to something here. Now I think of it wasn't the pre wenker back four ( and Keown) shit before Lord Vader transformed them into defensive superstars :D :D

Nice to see people missed my point completely, labelling me an AKB.

As I say, you don't know how he'll be. He could be shit. He could be great. How on earth do you know? I'm starting to think some of you just love a moan and to slate players off, even before they play :banghead:

Took you long enough

Do you see a problem with using Henry as comparison?

I should point out that my comment wasn't really aimed at you Daryl, it was more a light hearted jab at the more brainwashed AKB's that actually do come out with statements like "Bergkamp was nothing before Wenger made him great".

For what it's worth I agree totally we should never write off a knew signing without watching them play in the PL for Arsenal. Some players arrive being viewed as average and the PL suits them and they become stars - some arrive as stars and the PL does not suit them and they get (wrongly in most cases) viewed as average or shit. The PL is a tough league to make it in. It's faster and with more contact than most European leagues.

The best 2 strikers in the league in 2012 have been Cisse and Jelavic so there is no reason why Giroud or Podolski can't score the goals in this team, two of the worst strikers cost 50m and 35m even Surez at 22m scored fuck all so price tag or where they come.from.should have no baring on.how they do.

I don't think people slate Giroud coz they think he can't turn out good. I think it's more about venting their frustration at the situation. I think we can all agree that Giroud is a hot prospect. It will be interesting to see how he turns out. HOWEVER! Giroud as an addition is perfect, giroud to replace our No. 1 striker.... Now that's a big big risk! He's completely unproven in PL, and OM, PSG, OL are no Man U, Shitty, Chavs or FC victims...

I share this opinion that Giroud to replace RvP is not enough, far from it! On the plus side, I'm very excited to see him play coz he's technically good, and more than anything, something we haven't had for years: He's a beast! (1m92, 92kg).
I think we've been lacking a strong physical striker for years now.

He's ok. He's not up with the top strikers up there, but that can come. I mean, in Ligue 1 he's pretty clinical but he's not under the same physical pressure when in stricking position than he will be in the PL (not sure my sentence makes sense... :P) We will have to see but I'm pretty confident he can turn good with his physical ability (as I said, 1m92, 92kg) He keeps the ball well, has a good control, is good in transmition, and speed is ok.

One thing is for sure: I'm far more excited about his signing than I was about Chamack and Gervinho.
