How did we hang on for that win?

Least The Ox and Walcott are fresh for the city game.

very good result for us, now in theory 7 points at home shouldn't be beyond us so top of the group no matter what happens away is very realistic

Excellent result - well off the boil second half but wouldn't have seen us hang on last season so overall well pleased
:barscarf:

A plea - we've just one 2-1 away - let's have some respite from the ''giroud is shit etc etc'' brigade at least for tonight

Really had to dig in during second half and few of the players were looking bit tired towards the end, glad we've got til Sunday to recover. Thought both centre backs were very good.

horrible second half, but a win is a win, so i'm not complaining. thought we looked very tired as well, good thing that the city game is only on sunday, 5 days for the players to get fit again.

Am not sure what was wrong with our midfield tonight. Thought Montpellier were better than I thought thye would be and were up for that match. They will take points off Schalke and Olympiakos I feel.Too many wide open spaces for them and we gave the ball away a lot. Cracking goal from Pod and Gervinho seems to be developing nicely.
Nice to see us win while playing badly.

These are the sort of games that a decade ago we would have ended up drawing, so a solid defensive performance bar a few shaky moments.
Belhanda will want that shot at Mannone back again so we've got very lucky there are the BFG's only real rash moment of the game.
Thought our midfield looked shattered in the second half, and really don't see why Ox and Walcott were left on the bench so long. The likes of Gerv looked dead on his feet.

that had to sting a bit - to be ahead twice and lose three goals in the last 15 minutes . LOL.

anyone know someone in Spanish Air Traffic Control ?

Mourinho did a "bergkamp" knee slide according to the beeb.

Good first half, terrible second half after Diaby went to sleep twice which got their tails up, needs to cut that out.

Either way, we would have drawn or lost that last year.

Great result, it's all set up nicely for our usual CL performances......
Score enough points to qualify after 3 or 4 games then throw the last two to finish second!! Sorry.....but I can see it happening 8)
