Re: which striker should we buy?
If we are talking fantasy land the either Radamel Falcao or Edinson Cavani. If we're talking real world then no-one, as we wouldn't want to 'kill' Gervinho, Walcott, SQPark or Giroud now would we?
Re: which striker should we buy?
Don't think the Judas would enjoy seeing him join us as he also rivals him for the Dutch striker role and van Gaal seems to prefer the hunter as well. How sweet would it be to have Huntelaar replace him and outscore him for us?Its Up 4 Grabs Now wrote:Forgot about Huntelaar. Good shout, get Vermaelen to tap him up during the Schalke game.
Supposedly he hates Van Herpes too, which is an added plus. Not that I'm petty or bitter or anything.

Re: which striker should we buy?
I always rated Cavani but saw him live in the lympics and he was toilet
we bought Eduardo after he scored the first competitive goal at the Grove
be nice to get Huntelaar to and add to the set
(has Mellberg retired, or was he injured for Olympiakos the other night?)

Hmm...

Re: which striker should we buy?
It's the part of the press clipping that says Wenger is looking for a back-up for Giroud that makes me piss myself. I know he's not quoted as saying that but it would just be in keeping with the way we look at transfers these days.
A bit like winding the clock back to 1983 and saying "what we really need is some cover for Chapman"

Re: which striker should we buy?
The more I think about this I think we will enquire about Huntelaar rather than Ba.
Ba might be a problem in the dressing room, not up for being rested etc.
But Huntelaar's experience could be useful in Europe especially.

We won't buy a 'star'....it will never ever happen
I think he will sign someone, and it will be a young player with a good potential selling on fee (that is how we operate). SO I think we will go for someone like Andrej Kramaric. You heard it here first.

Re: which striker should we buy?
I haven't bothered to read the article because its probably bollocks, but the headline probably sums up where we are at
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be given £35m to spend in the January transfer window - but the Frenchman is still not sure whether to spend it.
Full story: Daily Mail
Remember this is the guy who when asked what he would do if a rich benefactor gave him £100m to spend, replied "give it back"
Why compete when a little bit more self harm can be inflicted and remove the pressure from scrambling around for 4th place in May ?

You can bet your sweet ass that the £35m is transfer fee and wages.SteveO 35 wrote:I haven't bothered to read the article because its probably bollocks, but the headline probably sums up where we are at
