When we fail to register a single shot on target in 90 minutes - another pathetic Wenger record to equal the 8-2 mauling - its because we couldn't possibly compete with Barcelona
Ok then
That's because Celtic used a thing called "tactics" tonight where they targeted the lack of height in the Barca defence and exploited it by, wait for it, putting the ball into the box from a corner.
Such a ridiculous notion - Rod Stewart at least was on the right wavelength. He was crying because he realised that by Wengerball rules they had lost 84%-16%.

We beat Barca at home 2-1 as well (in 2011). I wouldn't read too much into it, mate. These results happen. That's football.
Knew this would happen , but there are people here (Ireland) writing on facebook about Celtic's win using the word "we"... Seriously I am delighted they won because they were underdogs, they worked so hard, they were unlucky in Barcelona, their fans created a great atmosphere...but not because they are Irish or have historical Irish connections.
Glasgow Celtic FC are in all record books as a Scottish football team who in 1967 became the first British winners of The European Cup. There are many people in Ireland north and south who support them and that's fair enough. But the ones that I know writing on facebook claim to be Liverpool and Man Utd fans and I'm sure a few Arsenal fans tick that box too. Wrecks my fucking head
I fucking hate most (not all, but most) Oirish Celtic fans because they associate Celtic with sectarianism and sing fucking IRA songs. Arseholes. Wannabe hardmen.
Not all of them as I say but deffo the majority I've ever bumped into. Should point out I hate Rangers equally as much for the same reason.
Once famously had a mong Oirish Celtic fan (in a Celtic jersey) abuse me in a pub for wearing my "Brit" Arsenal jersey. When I'd finished laughing I helpfully pointed out that Celtic were in fact Scottish and thus British. Dizzy Kúnt. REALLY REALLY hate the ones that wear a Celtic jersey last night, sing their mindless wanker IRA anti-Brit songs and then pop up on Saturday in their Man Utd jerseys. Absolute fucking brain dead mong wankstain period-breath pissfucks the lot of them.
A great result for Celtic and they got their tactics bang on, but in fairness I also think they might just have caught The Whores on an off night...

DB you tend not to say what you are feeling , let it out man , don't bottle it up
What get's me is the holier than thou heads people put on when talking about Celtic in almost revered tones. I don't hate Celtic or their fans (genuine ones) .I am indifferent to them, if they play Arsenal then I hate them otherwise I am indifferent. Their genuine fans in Ireland I can cope with, it's the dim-wits that support Celtic plus one that get to me.

Yeah, I know - I tend to bottle things up, mate!
As I say it’s not all Celtic fans, or even all Oirish Celtic fans. There are some genuine intelligent non-sectarian ones (just like there are some in the Rangers fanbase) but there are just a huge amount of Oirish Celtic "fans" (especially in Dublin) that think wearing the hooped jersey makes them some kind of inner-city IRA supporting gangsta hard man.
THOSE ones I fucking despise as they are fucking gimpoid pox-bottle cuntwounds. There I go holding it all in again...

Give Wenger those Celtic players (who lets be honest are fairly limited ability wise) and I wonder how many games he'd need before he got a result against that Barcelona side. I reckon he'd need at least another 30 years in football.
Have to say that despite their lack of quality I've really enjoyed watching both the Celtic games against Barcelona. The workrate, desire, organisation and concentration it took was massive and that is something we dont see as Arsenal supporters anymore.
I know when we beat Barcelona in the home leg we beat them playing some qulity stuff but that sort of got spoiled when we couldnt string 3 passes together in the away leg and went out in appalling fashion. The RvP sending off a complete distraction from how abysmal we were (both before and after the red card).

I once went into an old London pub with a mate (2 mins away from the Oval cricket ground) where we got told we werent welcome by a guy in a Rep of Ireland shirt. It was because we had English accents apparently, nothing to do with what we were wearing.
I told him to F--k off in my English accent and let him know that I drink wherever I want in the city I was born. To be fair the other regulars in there were fine so just one arsehole but still ...

He was probably from Cork.
But yep, there are arseholes everywhere. As the Bishop said to the school Principal.
Clash wrote:I know when we beat Barcelona in the home leg we beat them playing some quality stuff
We played quality stuff for about 10-20 mins apart from that we were well outplayed and Barca should have been 3 up by the time we got our winner
There were 2 the games in successive years werent there? The first one, which finished 2-2, I remember we got slaughtered.
I thought the 2nd one, which we won 2-1, we were much better but I could be wrong. I do remember Messi having a perfectly good goal ruled out ... something Wenger conveniently forgot (along with the pen Barcelona should have had in the first half of the 2nd leg) when he childishly told Guardiola after we went out that he should thank the ref

Yeah the first one we got battered and the second one we played better (or barca were worse) but as you said they had good goals ruled out and missed sitters in the 2nd one too, we could/should have been done in that one too

Sounds about right!
Didnt Wenger also pick out that 2-1 win as the highlight of the season for us or something? I sort of remember thinking how this summed up both him and club at the time ... picking out part of a tie we ended up losing and naming it as a positive thing!
