I am doing it for charity mate but its very personal so wouldn't ask anyone here to sponsor me

Fair play flash. Good luck pal, and remember, plenty of carbs the night before and
loadsa liquids during the race.

That's something i struggle with, i hate running with a water bottle so haven't drunk much during training which i know is bad, the good thing is during the half there are scheduled drink stops so shouldn't be a problem
Half marathon with scheduled stops? It's called
just going for a walk really isn't it, Flash?

Not stops as such

..... I entered the London marathon but didnt get in via the ballot, had this half set up as a warm up but as i didnt get in decided to do this instead, having trained for this im not sure how i would have got ready for a full marathon

im shagged out already

Will there be designated WD40 stops for you to oil the runner-wheels on your armchair?

am i late arriving to the slagging off?!
good on you though, i'm starting running soon, my ma did a lot of runs and passed still holding the cheshire schools record for 10k, not bad. she did a charity 10k run that her work sponsored every year so i will be aiming for that in september, will start training properly once my football season is over

Nice one skizz... A couple of tips - run for a cause it does keep you motivated during the hard work (and shit cold weather in my case) of training
and also get properly measured and fitted for your trainers, i had knee problems to begin with and couldn't work out why until i got the right trainers for my running style and no probs since

thanks flash. if i was being apathetic i'd insult the amount of money my mum raised for cancer research and no benefit from it (her words not mine!!

) but I will find something. the charity run itself is for a cancer research centre in moor park so that's a good start, also the motivation of doing it for her is big!
a guy at my office runs regularly and he said runners need is good for measurements, dont have to buy anything but apparently they make you get on a treadmill, check out your running style and pick them from there, did you do the same?
