As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Bradywasking wrote:What is being overlooked in this national tragedy is the role of Rednose....regardless of the merits of the card he had to get down pitch side and reorganise his team . He had lost a winger that flirts in and out of games, not a central defender. Instead he attacks the fourth/sixth or whatever official he was. The great tactical genius and motivator didn't do it on the biggest stage. Hate to remind you but Chelsea were 2-0 and a man down in the Nou Camp last season. United's task was massive last night but achievable. What it needed was a cool head on the sideline.
Agreed 100%. It was a test of their Champions League winning credentials and they failed it spectacularly. I argued the same point to a Man Ure supporting pal of mine and it got him proper miffed.
I have believed for a long long time and I still believe it now.....moaninho will step into the manure job when old ferguscum retires and dont be surprised if it is this summer. I firmly believe that old rednose will be given the task of selecting his replacement, especially if he moves "upstairs", and the relationship between them will clinch the deal for the portugese c**t Their situation is different than our's - their manager's job will require someone with real character and profile as he would be managing the 2nd biggest club in world football and we all know that old moaninho will not feel one bit intimidated by the prospect. They will not be prepared to take on a manager that is "a work in progress" so there is very very few managers out there that are suitably qualified and one of them is relocating to germany this summer.
There hasn't been much to bring a smile to my face football wise lately, but the sight of that drunken old bastard shuffling down the steps with his jaws and arms flapping warmed my soul.
To say that that decision turned the game is the understatement of the season.
United were so comfortable it was embarassing up until then. Could have had Ken Dodd in goal.
United didn't half put us to shame. An organised defence, everyone knew their jobs, the crowd did their bit and the manager was down there fighting on the touchline (unlike our clown). Amazingly, I still felt they could get back into it with 10 men from 2-1 down.
Boy, we are well behind them. Proper football club (like we once were) and a team giving there all.
The sight and sound of Mourinho last night, arselicking Fergie (similar to what the AKB's do to Wenger) was sickening... gone way down in my estimation... Wished he would have slid on his knees in front of the Man U bench at the end, instead of skulking down the tunnel... a total *word censored*.
I've still not cleaned last night's spunk off my boxers after the second half - Ferguson must have been close to a coronary.
Obviously going down to 10 hugely hampered them but it by no way put them out - look at how Chelsea did at Barca last year and even that we should still have gone through at Barca in 2011. Fact is that Madrid were lethargic for 55 minutes but then to their credit as soon as United went down to 10 they upped the tempo and were ruthless. Could have been a different story had they let United settle for 10 minutes after the red and again after the equaliser.
Btw did you realise both goals United scored (well one came from Ramos tbh) came from wrong refereeing decisions? In the first leg they scored after a corner that actually should've been a goal kick and yesterday van Persie was in an offside position. Yeah just offside and only a corner but still those were the two goals United scored.
But of course it's the refs fault because he sent a player off. Idiots

From FIFA’s “Laws of the Game” page;
LAW 11 - OFFSIDE
Offside position
It is not an offence in itself to be in an offside position.
A player is in an offside position if:
• he is nearer to his opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent
A player is not in an offside position if:
• he is in his own half of the field of play or
• he is level with the second-last opponent or
• he is level with the last two opponents or
• he plays for Manchester United

It was a sight to behold im still moist thinking about it now the chances they missed and the saves the Madrid keeper made after it went to 2-1 made it all the sweeter Fuck the *word censored*
