he didn't - his stats started well, when he was good
then fell to bits when he wasn't

Admittedly haven't checked current stats but last time I had the misfortune of hearing somebody on TV bang on about OPTA stats they were ridiculously misrepresentative in favour of Swansea. Ashley Williams and Angel Rangel were right near the top for passes completed and similar categories, because they often play 8 or 9 rushed passes between defenders and keeper before being forced to hack the ball anywhere under pressure or losing it in a dangerous area.

I think Leon Britton also had a ridiculous pass success % as well. And of course Paul Scholes infamous 96% pass success rate on his comeback against Citeh last year, whereas in reality he nearly managed to throw away a 3-goal lead against 10 men. There is a general distrust of stats but the ones regarding passing happen to be the most useless.

If Moyes doesn't deliver a trophy in his first season they will turn on him as quickly as one's stomach would turn upon being presented with Madonna's dirty old burst hedgehog splayed wide opened right in front of your face.

I think he'll fail miserably tbh. I think 99.999% of managers would. It's an incredibly high profile job, and following in the footsteps of the most successful manager the Filth have ever had. And then there's the issue of the shower of cúnts in the dressing room that he'll inherit. Has he got the grit to deal with so many huge egos and fucktards that are so used to success? Can he impress them?

I think (and really really hope) it will all go pear shaped. 8)

God dammit, Mr. Lamarr sir, you use your tongue purdier than a twenny dollar whore!

Not quite true. He was good for about 4 or 5 games right at the beginning. His downward spiral was sudden. Wenger was still pointing to his pass completion stats long long after he was exposed as a very poor quality footballer.

I have argued long and hard (steady  ) on here in numerous threads that stats in general, but particularly pass completion stats, are absolute shite when judging a player’s quality. :x

Perfect example; Legohead often got himself into trouble by delaying on the ball, initially under no pressure, then when closed down by an oppo player he would panic fire the ball in the general direction of a team mate, but anything up to 5 yards wide of his intended target. Said team mate stretches, maybe gets clattered for his trouble, but manages to get a toe on the ball. The stat retards at Opta give LegoHead a pass completion stat.

Stats only give quantity, not quality.

Even “goal assist” stats are open to interpretation. Any hoofed ball put blindly into the box that gets tapped in or headed in is counted as an assist, though there may have been absolutely no intent to pick out the goalscorer and thus the cross or pass was a fluke.

I’m sure Opta would tell anyone stupid enough to look up the stats that LegoHead probably had better pass completion stats than Lampard or Giggs. But who would you rather played for Arsenal? His stats might even have been better than Fabregas’ (I honestly don’t know and couldn’t be fucked looking them up  ) but we all know who was class and who was shite out of the two don’t we?

Also our shite tippy tappy Barca-Lite "style" bloats our pass completion stats. How often have you sat there watching us piss around with 20+ passes between the keeper, the back 4, the midfield, the keeper again, the back 4 again etc etc fucking etc, and wondered "when in sweet fuck are we going to attack or shoot?"

The sad thing is the resignation of Fergie will keep Wenger longer at Arsenal

Chelsea will strengthen with Mourinho, and they will buy a quality striker (Falcao)

City sat on their laurels last summer. The signings of Sinclair,Rodwell,Garcia and Maicon were a joke. They will spend big this summer.Bale?Lewandowski?

Utd still have a good squad and a board who back the manager.Baines Fellaini Lewandowski(Bale?) would make them a better team

As for us we are stuck with Loser Wenger. Why oh Why are we not going for Heynckes when he leaves Bayern and dont tell me he is too old he is 3 years younger than Fergie
Donaldo, I sort of made this same point on the 'summer transfer thread', in a roundabout way. I agree with you here.

Pellegrini 1/10 to be next manager of Citeh

So Mancini to follow Fergie and Benitez. All managers who will probably win trophies this season. But our loser is as safe as houses. That tells you all you need to know about Kroenke

'probably'? Mancini can't. Fergie has. Benitez has a tough UefaCup final.

just heard on SSN that Fergie has urged the United fans to stick with the Club and stay supporting them. I imagine his words were mis-repersented but if you have to urge fans to stay supporting a Club then it says more about the "fans" than the Club. We all come on here disillusioned and full of anger, many refuse to go to games when Wenger is manager etc but we do not need to be told to stay supporting the club.

I'm surprised you find the time to post on an Arsenal forum
when you've decided you don't want us to win trophies

you're only torturing yourself
