Groundhog summer transfer window thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Rumours today about us getting Llorente on loan in January.
I'd be very happy. He's from a similar mould to Giroud (imo a bit better), big, strong, good in the air, so we wouldn't have to make too many adjustments to our style of play.

Preferable to Demba Ba.

Llorente can't get a look-in at Juve since they signed Tevez. Athletic took him out of the game for a year, so he's understandably rusty, but he was a really good striker and is in the mould that Wenger likes.
Think it could be interesting. We do have a bit of previous with strikers doing badly in Italy, then coming to us and doing well! (and now Gerv doing the reverse - good luck to the Forehead. He was terrible for us, but at least he tried and seems amiable enough as a bloke).

Fucking about with loan deals really does my fucking nut and I'm in favour of the system being overhauled so that it only applies to players under 21 and emergencies for goalkeepers

Its an absolute sodding embarrassment that wealthy PL teams (and other top flight teams from overseas) dick about loaning players
