The game we dare not lose, I've got a feeling we will win this one, even Wenger will be aware of the shit storm that will arrive if we meekly roll over and go out.

I have got a horrible feeling regarding a draw though

Wanker, I put one on your toe, after a losing 2 defenders with such a great drop of the shoulder that even the trees swayed the wrong way (the said 2 defenders are still looking for me now  ), and you missed form a yard out (gervinho style   ).

Anyhow thanks DB.

Like you said it is my opinion, it wasn't back in the day as the FA cup was taken WAY more seriously, nowadays if you win it it is diluted because most managers put out weakened teams so in no way is it like the old days

By the way I was there in 93 fa cups but turned down the league cup ticket as I had to play in a final and would always rather play sport than watch it.

Bring on the abuse  I dealt with worse when I was drinking warm milk though a straw before the real lessons began

This must be because of European cups and later Champions league + lower tier European cup competitions. Top clubs just have to prioritize all these competitions and sadly it is money that tells on what competition to focus. And of course, lot of foreign players and managers coming in and maybe domestic cups doesn't fire their ambitions that much.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't FA Cup very respected competition back in the day? It is the oldest football competition in the whole world so I think it should have more respect from top clubs as well. It's a disgrace that none of the broadcast companies doesn't show any of the matches here behind God's back

When I was a kid growing up in the 70s, the FA cup was THE competition you wanted to win, the league obviously determined the best team, but the FA Cup and particularly the final was huge, it was one of a handful of games that was shown live on 2 of the 3 terrestrial channels coverage would start from about 9 in the morning, it really had a unique and special feel about it

If there are stats for what happens to our season by this point in the past 8 season (and there's bound to be some) they would show us losing this game - and then totally messing up the next 2 games...so we are out of the Chimps leage Cup AND ready to take honours for virtual 4th trophy...so why should we expect anything different when we have a manager (now there's a contradiction in terms) who keeps repeating the same mistakes season in, season out!?

It certainly was. FA Cup Final day was special no matter who was playing but if your team was actually in the final?? Fuck yeah. Proper history and tradition. My missus bought me a Xmas present back in 2002 of a flight to Highbury to get my photo taken with both trophies. A couple of mates tagged on and we made a great trip out of it. The photographer told us that nearly everyone that came through there that day went to the FA Cup first rather than the cheap shit-looking PL trophy - as did we! 8)

Arsene and Rednose were the first two managers to dilute it by playing weakened sides and I think it's terrible that it has been downgraded like this. For me it's a far more entertaining comp than the poxy bloated CL.

Hmmmm.... I do recall that just after my blinding half volley hit the huge fat leg of their huge fat defender (honestly, that shot gets better everytime I think about it and - oh, right... ) Anyway I seem to recall you scuffing one off your shin that landed right in front of augie about 3 yards out and he hit the post with the resultant "shot" and I use that term VERY LOOSELY....

I would perhaps say fair enough IF we still had a shot of winning the league.
fact is we don't and are unlikely to for as long as Wenger is in charge.

the facts are this season that the FA Cup is the only trophy that this club can win and it would be helpful if all supporters agreed on this and got behind the team 100% tomorrow.

I agree with the comments that this is THE game of the season.

IMHO there's nothing like waking up on a Cup day - quarters, semi or final. From the moment you sip your first cup of tea or pint to kick off, the whole day is about the game whether you're going or not.

If you have a good day it makes up for the whole season if its been a bad one. It always renews your hope in the team even when we're shite.

It's a feeling all football fans can share regardless of division or position.

If you don't get that then you're not much of a football fan IMHO let alone an Arsenal fan given our history in the competition. or Arsene Wenger. Smh.

What do we need to become the most storied FA cup team - two wins ?

Had Wenger won 3 or more FA Cups in the last nine years then would so many people view him as a failure ?

I think not. Not amongst the real, old school anyway.

I'm really looking forward this now.

I agree cannot wait for this.

Feels like this is the biggest game in a long time!

Wouldn't it be quality if we could win the cup this year , end this fucking drought and beat spurs, liverpool, everton and city along the way :D

I'm allowed to dream surely ...
