Man City Community Shield

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Has anybody else heard the awful radio advert from BT Sport with his commentary after we went 4-0 down to Liverpool? The guy is honestly the worst bloke I've ever heard on a football game, makes Lawrenson and Phil Neville seem interesting and insightful.

It's a bit of a myth that you need two quality players in every position to win league titles but Monreal has no right to be near our squad. There are plenty of players who cop stick for not really being up to it (e.g. Giroud) but Monreal is stealing a living. Got no time for the coward.

Yep he is dire.

He is starting to look Santoseque in terms of ease of getting past.

We still have a chance of flogging him and buying another LB. Lets face it Gibbs can't even play 80% of our 1st priority games.

Win or lose it doesn't matter a whole lot UNLESS we take a real beating and that is a very real concern for me. Already we are going to be without BFG, ozil and podolski and whilst citeeh could get by being without those players, I am not so sure that we can.

Personally I would like to give ospina a run out in this if fit - this game should be treated as a pre season game and bedding in new players is what pre-season is all about for me.

Likely team -

Chesney

debouchy chambers kos gibbs

ramsey arteta

sanchez santi ox

giroud

I think he's injured - out with a thigh problem, so even if he recovers I doubt he would be fit enough to play on Sunday.

Worried about our pint sized midfield going up against City's monsters Toure, Fernando, etc. Hope we get Carvalho in time for this one otherwise they're gonna have a field day against Arteta and co.
