Re: Diaby
This thread could/should have been merged into the liverpool match thread but seeing as its a positive thread ill leave it open as there are enough negative ones when we've lost or played shit. Thought Diaby was excellent yesterday just FFS keep him fit

Re: Diaby
Thanks Flash, its more about Diaby as a whole than the Liverpool match and maybe other posters can add their points of view as the season moves on. I was actually surprised how well he played which is the kind of surprise Arsenal Fans need right now.

Re: Diaby
I think he had an excellent game yesterday and I would be happy if we could get a decent season out of him. However, I just think that he still is a problem player us. Undoubtedly he has skill and quality, but I think that it is undermined by other elements of his game.
And I want to see is how he reacts when the chips are down - is he a leader or just another wallflower who goes missing? Let's see what happens in different situations aginst varied opponents to get a rounded view.
I believe that amongst other things his attitude and decision-making have let him down and if these things improve, together with the rest of the team, then we might see a collective improvement.
I hope he does make it because like it or not andd as long as Wenger is at the club, then Diaby will be there too as this is one on whom Wenger will not give up.

Re: Diaby
Agreed 100%. I also fear his injury jinx will fuck him up again. This is the guy that came back from months out injured last season, came on as a sub, and went straight back off injured after 10 minutes!!arseofacrow wrote:I think he had an excellent game yesterday and I would be happy if we could get a decent season out of him. He was the MOTM yesterday and I'd love if he could do that every game.

But I really doubt he will tbh...

Re: Diaby
Thing is he's been selected to play for France (frienmdlies are shyte!
) and what he really needs is very careful monitoring....and the national teams medics are even worse than ours!
But he had a Great Game yesterday(just watched both halves on Pravda.com)...(Tin hat on
) He actually reminded me of PV4 - especially when he was breaking up play and going forward at pace....Like all Gooners (except BlahBlah) I hope this is the beginning of a Brilliant Injury Free Season for him (and Us!).

Summer of Gloom, then along came Abou
Well fellow Gooners, I'm back after a long Summer rest. Sorry, but I was depressing myself towards the end of last season so I thought I would sit back, ignore every fucking transfer rumour going (thank god I did) and give the club the benefit of the doubt in the window i.e. and actually wait for the bloody thing to close full stop. Well a lot of fucking good being reasonable did for me !
Well where to start - a team that conceded 49 goals failing to add a single defensive player!! Nice one Arsene. The inevitable loss of our captain to a once-upon-a-time rival club (FFS - in a season or two players will be leaving us for Newcastle and Everton), another so called wonderboy "Wally Walnutt" running down his contract (whilst the likes of Lennon, Bale and even 'unsettled' Defoe sign long term deals at the Shithole), another French striker that will need a 12 month 'adaption' period, last season's comedy signing Park packed off on loan to mighty Celta Vigo, still stuck with Chamakh and Arshavin because they are being paid wages ridiculously out of line with their ability, and the King of Denmark and Legohead Denilson still only loaned out because they are equally shite. Oh, and on the subject of comic book capers we still have 2 of the 3 stooges as cover for Chesney.
Although on the plus side.........bye bye Vela ! And someone was mug enough to pay £4m. I presume it was £3.99m for the collection of designer rollnecks, gloves, hats and scarves and £0.01m for contribution on the playing field. I hope Sociedad manage to draw a Liga 'C' team in their Capital Uno cup equivalent and get the benefit of a little dinked finish when the score is already 5-0 - well worth the money.
BUT THEN>>>>>>>>>>>> ALONG CAME ABOU
As predicted - free from injury.....playing in his undoubted best position i.e. attacking central midfield (not a fucking CDM or left winger Wenger after 6 sodding years), and all of a sudden its like the storm clouds have been lifted. A ray of glowing sunshine illuminating the Premiership. A twinkle toed genius that put Fred Astaire to shame. A god of a man, rising imperiously through the rubble to reduce the thieving Bindippers and their collection of new wasters to a gibbering wreck.
Come on Abou my old son - some of us always believed

Re: Diaby
The world just feels a better place today fellas !
ABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Anyway, on to other things
What have been the comings and goings at Gooner Towers? Is Baba still upsetting anyone and everyone? Has Red Member decided Wenger's a genius once more for managing to sign a striker even slower than Chamakh? Has Augie bolted his load now that Almunia has left?

Re: Diaby
I've always thought Diaby was a decent player but like flash said its not his ability that's in question, its his fitness. Same as Judas a couple years ago.
Hopefully he can have a PROPER run of games now, for a player of his ability to only be getting started now is criminal but we all know it's in no small way down to that no mark Dan Smith

Re: Diaby
When a team gives as much space as Liverpool did to exploit then Diaby can perform, but when the midfield is packed..Diaby is not very good.
Not many sides will give us the space we had yesterday.
Diaby played well because Gerrard wasn't interested.

Re: Diaby
Hopefully it'll give him a bit more confidence and I can only hope that our increased general team discipline will rub off on him. Having a midfielder who can carry the ball like he can is a huge asset, even in the past I've always seen him as a really useful player coming off the bench because he can really use that to stretch the opposition when they're fatigued.

Brilliant ! Some people's inability to give praise just astounds me. When I've come on here and praised him for playing well at places like Fulham the response is "Oh it was only mighty Fulham'. Then when he runs the show at Anfield against a manager renowned for playing a pressing game and containing the England captain in their ranks it's because he 'wasn't interested'.
If Steven Gerrard as captain of Liverpool wasn't interested in a game against Arsenal to prevent his team having its worst league start for over 80 years.....come on Sammy. He was made to look average by a FAR SUPERIOR PLAYER !
Abou was also different grade at Stoke despite those twats charging around kicking lumps out of anything that moved
As I said last year, if Diaby scored a hat-trick in the Nou Camp it'd no doubt be down to the fact that Barca had an off day
Are you upset because he's got Goetze's number 2 jersey ?
