I wonder if that video would be getting the attention if we'd won the game.

We had numerous chances to do Southampton and the fact we didn't wasn't really a lot to do with this guy clownin' araaand in the tunnel.

It isn't and this is exactly the sort of thing which is seized upon when things are going badly. Likewise I wouldn't give a toss about Wilshere being filmed smoking if he was playing like 2010/11 but things late that grate when he has contributed next to nothing for half a decade since.

That said Ox is desperate to be a social media hero and lark about with his bench buddies Gibbs and co, and I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a bit of humility from a young unproven footballer who is repeatedly turning in performances of the turdest quality. Wouldn't have seen this sort of nonsense under Ferguson.

It always amazes me when people dismiss the stupid things footballers do because "they are just blokes in their 20's having a bit of fun" as if their behaviour then doesn't impact on their playing. The point is though that they are blokes in their 20's often getting paid £100K a week to deliver the goods in an elite sport.

Sorry, but if you want to earn £100K a week then you will need to sacrifice a few things. Tough shit.

Whilst the Ox dance thing seems harmless, it is indicative of lack of preparation and concentration just before he goes on the pitch to compete in an elite sport. It's indicative that his mind is not on the job in hand.

Whenever I see those videos of bang average Ingerlish footballers doing their piss poor "raps" on Soccer AM and YouTube I think, "there's another one that won't make it to the top". Too many of these players are in love with the lifestyle and the glamour and the money and not enough with trying to be the best in an elite sport.

I remember some average plank (might have been Pennant) commenting that he was amazed to see Bergkamp stay back after training and practice hitting the ball with instep, outstep, laces etc. Just hitting the ball hundreds of times. The implication was that he didn't understand why Bergkamp was doing it. :|

I know you are joking but as we all know the game was very different back then and the majority of players at the top level in England were all doing it. There's not one of those players that would make it to the top nowadays if they were living that lifestyle.

The perfect example of a promising young footballer getting sidetracked by the hype, the bullshit, the money and the glamour is Frimpong. Look how his career nosedived once he wrapped himself up in Soccer AM appearances and all his "Dench" shite;

Arsenal
Wolverhampton Wanderers (loan)
Charlton Athletic (loan)
Fulham (loan)
Barnsley
FC Ufa (Russia)

Big difference - back then the whole league was at it so you were at no real disadvantage being in a drinking club. Today the tiniest margins are what separate the winners from the also rans so if you're not 100% focused every game you're dead.

Social media gives us a glimpse into the lives of the modern footballer, something we would never have been privy to 5+ years ago. I follow most of the squad on twitter and when you see a guy like Alexis posting pics of himself at home with his dogs of a Saturday night or him playing the piano (anyone see that? ) and you compare that to the selfie kings we have posing in front of their new motor or showing off their latest flash barnet you get to see the mentality of the winners and also rans in our squad first hand!

WTF.... it symbolises Wenger total lack of preparation in many games, how many times we seen them start so fucking slowly, cast your minds back to Chavs at home the first 20 mins was a disgrace

They are not mentally prepared for the game.....he does FUCK all to motivate them

Also those players named Adams, Dixon...etc turned up on the saturday motivated and mainly put in a performance unlike these pampered spineless millionaire wankers we have today

Thats exactly it. Looks "harmless" enough in isolation but just shows how ridiculously un-focussed the prima-donna is immediately before a big PL game. I think its fucking shocking. Its also shocking that no other supposed "senior" players like the big cowardly german stood there and did nothing. :|

No wonder we've dropped from first place to fourth so quickly with players going out on a big PL game as if they're heading out on the town to a club. :|
The whole club fukin stinks and this is another small but important example.

At least he scored a goal! Without that goal we would have drawn this match I'm sure of it.

If he evolved correctly he should be in the first eleven by now and 8-10 goals every season.

Hasn't developed under this regime. In fact the 'British core' has regressed or stagnated.

Took his goal very well - no coincidence that he profited from running onto it with pace and purpose. Unfortunately he was ponderous for the rest of the game and whilst our coaching is certainly not up to scratch I've never seen anybody look so utterly clueless defensively.
