Re: Transfers / players in / players out merged thread
Reckon Iwobi will be the first one out of the door. Not an Emery player at all.
The massive fanny.

If the ONLY thing Emery accomplishes is getting rid of Comedy Iwobi then his tenure will have been a success for me. If he also gets the big German vagina out of that academy job then he has all but won a CL in my mind!

They've given Cech the No 1 jersey FFS! What they should have given him was his P45.

I thought perez looked decent when he was given game time, but like others have said, the french cock messed him around and treated him (and podolski) like shitThat being said, I'm not sure if this is a progressive move - I get that every player should get a chance to prove that they are good enough to play for The Arsenal, but I'm not sure if they guy wants to come back to england. When it was said that emery presented the board with a detailed analysis of every player, I kinda hoped that he would already know who he wanted and didnt want - I was/am really hoping that deadwood players will be listed within the next week so that the revolution can get started

The world cup is gonna complicate things for emery - I know in theory that it is the same for every manager, but the reality is that it affects new managers far more than existing managers. Dick says that he is gonna talk to the players individually, but where will he get time to tell xhaka to fcuk off if he is away with his national squad ?Every second summer I say that the club needs to get their transfer business done before the world cup or euros start, but it is hard to do that when you appoint a guy just 3 weeks before it starts ? If clubs dont get get their business done in the next two weeks, then basically the transfer system goes into hibernation mode for 3 or 4 weeks so it will be mid-july before they can start getting deals done again
This transfer window holds as much interest for me in the departures as it does the signings

As far as I know he has nothing to do with buying players because that is left to others who have been with for long enough now to have a clear mind on who they want so the world cup should be irrelevant.

Re: Transfers / players in / players out merged thread
I would expect Emery to go to Russia and talk to the players he wants to keep, and tell the others you need to really impress me in this tournament to stay with the Team.
I think the players report back around 7th of July who are not on WC Duty, so he has plenty of time to call their agents before then.
I don't think he will make wholesale changes this summer - maybe let 2-3 go, and another 3-4 in January who haven't played.
I'm fascinated to see what he can do with Bellerin, Xhaka, holding, chambers, niles maitland and Iwobi through coaching them.
I would not be surprised to see two or three of them really start to play well.

7 goals was it in 15 games?? plus 8 assists or something like that, that is incredible reallynorthbank123 wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 8:26 pmJoel Campbell might just have a place in this blokes squad. Always thought he worked his bollocks off and could be a decent asset to the squad if he could be coached into having the right decision-making.markyp wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 8:15 pmReports that Emery wants Perez to report back for pre season, if true it's nothing more than he deserves, wenger treated him like shit, his stats were crazy for someone who barely started, even more annoying was comedy iwobi was deemed better than him, wtf! maybe this means welbeck will be offloaded? Perez was just a joke situation. Why sign a bloke to never play him? My view is that the bloke never looked like he could quite hack the pace of the PL at the top end, but that he gave a decent account of himself when he had a chance.

Not at all - I am really, really buzzing with this appointment and for the first time in years, I am really looking forward to the start of a season. I know some pundits are dismissing this appointment as a "europa league manager for a europa league club", but that b*llshit doesnt faze me one bit tbh. Most Gooners are well aware of what we are right now - wenger left a squad low in quality, a squad low in guts, a squad with zero organisation, and a squad that had no accountability. Only the most stupid of people will expect a massive overnight turnaround and a title challenge, but I do expect to see a big improvement in organisation, tactics and energy - if we see that and the results stay much the same as this past season, then I will be ok with it and write if off as being down to the sub-standard players we have.
When I said previously that the outgoings are gonna intrigue me as much as the incomings, it is because I want to see what his judgement is like when he assesses the current squad. We (myself included) have said in the past that players like chambers, bellerin etc could be very good players with the right coaching, but there are other players (yes you mustafi), who couldnt be a good player if the ten best coaches in the world were training him. I'm hoping that emery will look at him and a few others (iwobi for starters) and recognise straight away that they simply are not good enough, and put them up for sale. I am hoping (but not expecting) that emery will take one look at ozil and straight away accept that they guy is not suitable for his high pressing game, and put him on the market. I am hoping that he takes a look at our strikers and acknowledges that it would be criminal to leave either on the bench, or either on the wing, and decide to play two up top. These are all things that can be addressed without worrying about if the transfer budget is £50m or £200m, but they are all crucial decisions that he will be judged on.
Btw, if he decides that he doesnt need a new quality first choice keeper straight away, then I am starting a campaign to get him sacked before the season kicks off

According to Sky Italia, #Arsenal are very interested in signing Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini. Arsenal are hoping Emery's relationship with Roma director Monchi will help during negotiations. https://t.co/n5PCqVBgGh
Sampdoria's Belgian midfielder Dennis Praet is seen as an alternative to Pellegrini but #Arsenal could try to sign both. Praet has a €25m release clause & Arsenal have had talks with his agent. https://t.co/M38vbPT5QZ
Sky Italia also claim #Arsenal are interested in Mainz defender Abdou Diallo but Borussia Dortmund currently lead the race to sign him. https://t.co/y2ufQoOnBu

This will be the ultimate test of whether Wenger was a shitty coach or not. Everyone's been saying that with proper coaching some of our players could do really well so I'm looking forward very much to see if that's true.clockender1 wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 2:06 pmI would expect Emery to go to Russia and talk to the players he wants to keep, and tell the others you need to really impress me in this tournament to stay with the Team.

We're long overdue a proper Goalie. Look at the recent ones Atletico have had and compare them to the chumps we've had.
Being Spanish maybe Unai knows how to pick a good'un.

I'm enjoying the unpredictability of it all for the first time in years
Re: Transfers / players in / players out merged thread
I bet Sanchez wants to come back now Emery is in charge. He's realised the grass isn't greener and it rains more in Manchester than anywhere else in the world.
Has Jack's contract expired yet? Or is he still waiting to get a bigger club to come in for him?

Re: Transfers / players in / players out merged thread
I agree with that but I dont think the grass is greener bit has nothing to do with it - I think that sanchez will look at emery's game plan with the high tempo pressing game, and lament the fact that he wanted that when he was with us but none of his b**tard team-mates would bother
