Kai Havertz

I've been holding back on this till he either Turned Up or...

Watching the game against the mancFilth today I paid special attention to Havertz and he was Woeful. Unless he actually works Miracles in the net 5- 6 games and then stays Constant - He is going to get the same kind of Criticism as He Who Shall No Longer Be Named and Rightly So.

I’ll say this in his favour; he’s been very good at shithousing the opposition. I like that when we lose the ball he usually leans in in the oppo and gives away a small tactical foul (a shove or tussle) to slow them down.

He did that well today.

As shit as havertz was today (and he was shit), he was more useful than saka imo - the triple substitution should have seen saka, nketieh and havertz gone imo

Yeah Saka was dreadful- and against a full back and whole defence that were there to be absolutely rinsed. Really poor today

I know the opposition now double mark him, but today every time the ball came to him on the flank rather than steam ahead and take on their FB, he kept stopping and because he stopped it gave them time to get a second defender on him... He was virtually Non-existent today... which is a tad worrying. I just hope it is a Blip.

Not just today - he bottled a lot of big games last season too and it is becoming a pattern now imo. If he did it in ingerland games I MIGHT understand it given the racial abuse he suffered over missed penno, but he is revered at Arsenal and has no reason to hide

Blimey chaps, a bit harsh on Saka. He didn't play well, I agree, but he's entitled to be off he pace occasionally. He's hardly one of the squad that we ought to be concerned about and I can't say that I agree with Augie saying that there' a pattern of him not turning up...well, let's say I haven't noticed it, but I'll be looking out for it now. He did, of course, fuck up for Fulham's first goal last week.

I'd also say that Dalot was Utd's best player today imo and handled Saka very well. In fact, both their full backs did well (their wingers gave them a lot of help) and I don't usually rate Wan Bissaka at all, but he stood up well against Matinelli, who was lively today.

Agree saka was as bad maybe, but at least didn't give a goal away this week!

I thought dalot played really well but good point about him keep stopping by obg he needs to go at them, something martinelli needs to do more. Skin them.

In his defence as to being average for a while now. I suspect he's knackered he's played too many games imo

The thing isI don't think it is because he (Havertz) isn't trying, but he seems totally devoid of Confidence; which we all know is 90% of a players game, which is why had he scored a goal yesterday instead of the Air Shot it could have changed everything for him (and so the team and so our current perception and assessment of him), but he can only go on for so long before it becomes impossible to turn it around, regardless of whether Arteta keeps playing him.

I would suggest he needs one of those'Miraculous Moments' where it all comes together. I remember when we signed Willian ( ) and I thought Oh! Here we go yet another chav reject... But in his very first game he was excellent and I thought Oh! Okay, Maybe I was Wrong, sadly I was wrong to think that...

So whilst I also think he has been Shit thus far, for me he has not yet burnt all the bridges (Yet!).

Unlike Partey and Xhaka he has yet to do something so daft that has cost us the game - no gormless winding up of the crowd or opposition, no pathetic tackles, no red cards. A low bar maybe but for anyone who'd prefer Clive, then bear that in mind!

We've won 3 and drawn 1 with him in the team

Am I clutching at straws? Very probably :D

Thanks Augie, this is good. Agree with pretty much all they were saying. Make a lot more sense than we hear trotted out on Sky.

Agreed. Havertz has been gash, but still nowhere near as shit as Lobotomy Clive, and it's still early days for Havertz. Hopefully he comes good. I'm not over confident that will happen but willing to wait and see.
