People say even though that fabregas is on the bench for spain, he will get a place in the startin eleven with barcelona. But HE might not be as inclined as before to head there after not starting 6 consecutive games, cause there is always the possibility that he will not be chosen even though fit. With arsenal, first place is assured even if only 80% fit.

Both teams were as bad as each other imo but tbh it's the standard hypocricy in the English press against our club. Now, if Rooney had got injured before the world cup via the Shawcross tackle, then we would've had a different reaction but that's another story.

Keeping in topic, Webb you twat you've just ruined the final with that shit decision :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I'm all for teams going into matches with a gameplan, but I just don't think there is any place in football for the way the Netherlands approached this match. They kicked the opposition up and down the pitch for 120 minutes - but in the end, Andres Iniesta ensured World Cup glory went the right way, to Spain
Alan Hansen.

remember this quote next time we get kicked at stoke.

I no longer are if he goes...I'm more interested in the board. Anyway this is a WC thread and Robben lost that game for the Dutch. In a WC final you bury those chances.

How many hours before we hear a chorus of "Cesc has to come back home and enjoy winning more trophies".......F**K Barca, Mes que une club my arse. Vive la Mourinho

We will never see Cesc that happy in a Arsenal shirt. A - Because he is leaving. B - Becuase even if he stayed we will never win anything apart from the Emirates Cup

Shit game but then again Shit World Cup .
Bravo Cesc , you made all the difference , with a good repertoire of all that makes him the player we can't afford to lose . Puyol had Rvp in his pocket all night and summed up an overall disappointing personal WC for him .
Webb , what a Tosser

Thats the worrying thing, RVP was shit all World Cup. For the last 3 seasosns i have always felt RVP is over rated. When you compare him to Bendy, Vela , Eduardo and then Adebarndoor and the Beast he is far better. However thats not exactly hard!
I stil dont think RVP is not and never will be a 30 goal+ a season kind of striker. Nor is Bendy, Eddy, Vela

Shit world cup epitomised by a shit final with a shit referee and a shower of *word censored* winning it

PS Cesc get your catalan arse back to norf london and sort out your future NOW and stop fannying around with a team that dont trust you to start

I know it wasn't the greatest WC ever, but why does everyone just feel the need to knock this WC. I think it was better/on par with Germany 2006 and way better than Korea 2002 :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

What game did you watch ..re-Puyol/RvP. Anytime RvP had a bit of space and would pull away he'd either not get passed to or the ball delivered was shit. Robben picks the one time when he is genuinely fouled to stay on his feet, then complain to the ref afterwards. If he goes down, Puyol is the last man he's off and Spain are screwed.

Rvp played as well as hecould with the style adopted by the Netherlands. I can see why Mourinho didn't rate Robben after his first season, besides being an injury prone tosser, he still has very little concept of the team ethic even in a World cup final.
