Abou Diaby - Injuries Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wenger says he'll be a "major asset" for us next season. :D

Dont know about that - I think they are just re-quoting comments that le cock has used every summer for the past 5 years

I have nothing against Diaby and I feel sorry for the guy that he is a) injury prone and b) has a shite medical team looking after him. I'm sure the guy didn't envisage his career being spent in the treatment room.

Having said that I cannot see any justification in continuing to pay exhorbitant wages to an employee that cannot perform his basic job function. If he were in any other job his employer would have let him go years ago.

Everyone tells us that football is now a business not a sport (hence our conversion to "customers" ), so it makes no sense whatsoever for le cock to keep this perma crock - as little sense as it makes retaining him, to hold off buying a midfielder so you can judge the fitness of a guy that has spent 80-90% of his AFC career on the treatment bench, is scandalous and mis-management of the highest degree

surely he must be due a testimonial soon, surely ?

according to analysis of the club accounts, Wenger has spent 143million on fees, wages and bonuses for Djourou, bentdner, denilson, santos, eboue, dench, aliadere, jeffers, gervinho, squillacci, chamakh, song and diaby.

so if ever an AKB says "it was the stadium".......remind them that we paid Djourou nearly 18million during his 9 1/2 year stay...
Jan 2016 the testimonial is due, and I hope the Gooner faithful turn out en masse to pay tribute to one of our most loyal servants of the modern era

Rather than waving scarves they can all wave crutches and walking sticks ! :barscarf:

You miserable gits will be shooting the heaviest bits of jizz when the Great Man pales the likes of Yaya Toure and rest of so called B2B midz in the middle of the park this season.:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

I sincerely hope you're right, but he has been out of action for so long - it's gonna take him at least 6 months just to get his footballing brain switched back on and then after the occasional injury and if he gets played regularly he'll then be too old , so best sell him now. :D

Wenger - pinning his hopes for the season on Diaby.

Post by romfordwisp »

Wenger has said Diaby can be a major asset if he's fit this season! :blah:
I though when we got a load of cash from Puma and off loading 11 shit players, that we were really going to spend big on big named players, it got really exciting being linked with Khadera, balotelli, casillas etc
what a whally i am... getting sanchez, debuchy and a cheap goaly looks like thats about it for the spending spree.
if diabys fit for the start then no need for khadera etc says arsene wonga
what wonga sees in diaby i dont know, hes the luckiest man in sport - ever . he managed 16 minutes last season. if it was any other job he'd be gone.
just spend some money wenger , i dont care if we need khadera or not it cheers me up getting top players for a change.
I spent £95 twice on 2 new kits for my kids so spend some of it, not on that bench warmer sick note Diaby. :banghead:

I like Diaby but retiring would've been a prudent decision.
