THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wenger is at some coaches meeting in europe somewhere. Apparantly one of the things to come out of it is that they are going to abolish the away goals rule in european competitions. Knowledge 8)

No mate, some theiving little wanker from Dublin stole it.

Has AW taken the week off then? I wasn't aware of that!

How do we take the leap from Rogers is working to Wenger isn't?

In reality I very doubt that any of the PL managers have taken time off. They'll still have a lot of players around that haven't gone away and I would imagine they would take some time to look at them.
Wenger was in Rome on Monday, Managers meeting in Switzerland yesterday. He has been nowhere near the training ground. i bet he won't be back until Wednesday at least.

which given our poor form is piss poor. note that Rodgers and LVG didn't go to switzerland either.

Note that it was a meeting for managers of clubs involved in European competitions, United not being involved would mean LvG wouldn't need to be there.

Rodgers I can only assume got lost? :rubchin: :rubchin:

the mail article said it was intentional - maybe just maybe he'd rather be remembered for bringing the title back to anfield, rather than taking them to the last 8 of the CL ?

or maybe it was the loss to city ?

whatever reason, its better than taking a week away.

Wenger sacked by TF1 because of quote "unrealistic salary demands"
He may have to actually use his summers working for Arsenal and finding better players now...
Find it weird a guy who's so against excessive wages in football has no problem rinsing it when it comes to his own. Weird.

Especially given how much he was banging on about silly money in football whilst trousering £140k/w+ to scrape a distant 3rd/4th every season.
