Natalie's bongo's were great again this year transfer thread

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Zaha is a done deal, you know the club won't say anything till Jan window is open.

I put my neck on the block with the former and lost my head...with the latter my head is to be stitched back on

Christ you have posted some funny bullshit rumours in your time mc but that one is just off the charts

This rumour would worry me - I have seen him a few times and have not been impressed but he is cheap and buying cheap is everything with the c**t in charge  As well as that, it seems to be a rumour that just wont go away and that frightens me tbh

We want a Barca player and they say 'feck off'

Barca want an Arsenal player and we say "When do you want him and will you accept 50% off his true value"? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Not sure I give a fcuk anymore :( Anyway I said all along that the only way we would have a chance of getting him would be for villa to push barca into letting him leave cos they aint going to push him out the door

I can't believe anyone over the age of 10 thought for one minute that we might sign David Villa. Even assuming that Barcelona did want to let him go, or indeed if he forced a move, he would be a player in huge demand with virtually every big club interested. He could earn more money and win more trophies at any of these clubs than he would do with us. Maybe he'll join us when he's 36 and available on loan from one of the MLS teams

I believe(d) for the last 6 months that david villa was def gettable in the transfer market if a club was agressive in it's efforts to sign him. I hoped that my club would be the one lucky enough to sign him but at no stage did I actually believe that we would sign him. Once our supposed interest in him went public then I knew that was out of the race to sign him - to get a signing like him a club would have to work under the radar and would have to move fast and when it comes to signing players wenger is the biggest dithering old c**t out there  It is a well known fact that wenger scouts and scouts and hesitates when deciding to sign players and one cannot do that if one really wants to sign a top top player.
Maybe the one piece of hope that I clung to in this case was the fact that we signed arshavin a few years ago when it looked like the virtual trophy was beyond us and I hoped we would do something similar now :(

Villa would be a perfect signing to show the club's ambition and a genuine marquee signing who has won everything in the game would be perfect to help start to introduce a winning mentality, high standards, be a voice and a working example for the younger players and help to attract new ones. It would have a far bigger impact than Wenger could even begin to imagine, not to mention the shot in the arm it would give to supporters.

But for all the reasons you mention we won't sign him. With this owner and manager our days of signing players like this are long gone
