what is particularly worrying is that the pound has collapsed just because the government has started talking about a hard brexit.
when we actually trigger article 50 the currency will plummet like we have never been seen before.

it is highly likely that the euro will be worth more than the pound.
the leavers argue that the euro is in trouble, the problem is that the facts do not bear that out.

1. we dont actually make very much these daysand this means ?
2. have you ever tried making deals with 27 people all at the same time? this is in effect what the UK will need to do once article 50 is triggered.
there is no way that the remaining 27 countries of the EU will let us get a good dealUtter bollocks
3. you may be putting your head in the sand regarding the collapsing pound but the reality is a collapsing pound is making every single one of us poorer by the day. How you can argue against that FACT is beyond me.most deals are done in dollars including my business so its fucking great for me ,secondly a weak currency attracts foreign investment

give me one reason why we wont drift into obscurity?because if we start to drift we will collide with Ireland not obscurity

We arent leaving the Eu so dont get you knicks in a twist , Im fucking sick of remain voters bleating about us not knowing what we are doing and its negative effects which are all SHITE ,they play the victim card more than liverpool fans !

I'm a bit of a lefty socialist  and i think the uncontrolled immigration has caused major effect of British young peoples job prospects and a quite significant drop in wages for lower paid people in general. The EU has its good points increased worker rights is a very good thing. Jeremy Corbyn an even bigger 'lefty' than me  :D is massively anti EU which is why he gave such a half hearted performance in the referendum build up, personally i think to be socialist is to be anti EU but the problem is to be right wing is to be anti EU and this causes such a conflict for socialists that they put there own beliefs aside to 'fight' the enemy right wingers
this is a typical leaver stance. the problem I have got with this is why is there any likelihood that things will be better in the long term?
I can only see a gradual drift into obscurity for the country.

Why will we drift into obscurity? Because you got a bad exchange rate on your holiday money recently?

Britain is a big country inside or outside of the EU, 'obscurity' my arse :banghead:
Britain is actually just a little island in a huge global market. if it gets poorer you will soon realise this.
I have been to China and when you go there you realise how insignificant we are, and how scary the future could look.
China is a filthy country that cage boil alive and eat dogs if you like it so much you should have stayed there!
Haha I love this thread. when Wenger leaves Arsenal I recogn this is the thread to become the mother of all threads. Brexit evolves in a way that makes any Wenger debate look like small fry,

To celebrate this amazing contribution to the discussion, I am going to celebrate our multi cultured society by ordering a Chinese Takeaway for lunch. Crispy Duck anyone?

Isn't it funny how the Brexiteers jump on their high horse, when this country is described as small in relation to the new world order. Still living in the days of the British Empire, some people are me thinks.

This week we where relegated to the 6th largest economy in the world, thanks to our weak currency. I mean come on even AW isn't that bad!

Lads, honestly, if the personal insults and name calling don't stop we will lock this thread.

As is the way with political threads/debate every one of you is wrong. And every one of you is right. To varying degrees. :D

Let's just try and respect other people's opinions, huh?

You can't close the thread down, it would be more catastrophic than closing the Wenger thread down.

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

As a quick response to the Herd who suggested falling house prices would be good for our Economy, really?

And do you think the £/$ sitting at $1.24 after it crashed last night in the Asian markets is not anything to do with Brexit, really?

It beggars belief........

Do you even understand how markets work? The pound has fallen steadily throughout the year ever since bungling Boris threw his hat into the Brexit ring. 10 years ago the £ was worth $2, it doesn't take Einstein to figure out that given most things we buy are made from raw materials which are priced in yes, dollars ffs. Petrol, Fuel, Food...... nearly everything you consume is affected by our exchange rate and they will go up. That is a given if our exchange rate remains at these levels.

The last time the £ was worth this little was 30 years ago, given the amount the world has changed should we be happy about this? Stop using the word scaremongering and actually educate yourself on the ramifications of what is happening at the moment, even if it is too late.
